I sometimes think this house is stealing my stuff and hiding it. I've been losing stuff since we moved in. So it could be ghosts or elves or maybe just my tendancy to put everything in a "safe" place. I guess things will turn up eventually. Years ago I had a cat who used to steal my stuff and hide it under the couch. She'd take anything, razors, paper, pens, anything she could get to. For years I thought her sister was the klepto, but after she went to her great reward, the theft stopped. Her sister managed to find ways to keep me on my toes for a whole lot of years since then, but she didn't make it to AZ with me, so I'm missing my little Ophelia this year
Maybe next year I'll have a new kitty to run my life. Opheilia might just reincarnate to get another shot at taking down the Yule tree.
It was so icy in New Jersey today that my husband's company let everyone go home at noon. Of course since we now live in Arizona, he had to keep working. On the bright side, he didn't have to deal with driving home in the nasty weather, so he's not complaining. The company I worked for before I moved to AZ wouldn't have let us go home early if the world was ending, so I'm happy to be job free and in a place where 50 degrees is cold. I suppose I get a little homesick from time to time, but it never lasts long. The weather in Jersey has been lousy and it's not even officially winter yet. I miss my family and friends, but I don't miss NJ. Out here, the worst we've had to deal with is a couple days of rain and a cricket that won't shut up
I haven't even heard the cricket for a couple days, so maybe the cold got to him. I can't even say it'll be odd to celebrate Yule without snow. I can see snow on the mountains every time I go outside. So I'll just enjoy my time of massive unpacking and cleaning before I return to the evil world of work, and hopefully, back to college for a degree in library science. So I'm off to put more books on my book shelves.....I'm rapidly running out of space, but there's always the hope of another book shelf.......
Still alive. Very busy. Still trying to sell the damn house. Cold. Hate my job. My job hates me.
My cat still loves me. And she still barfs on my bed.

I can't believe the year is almost over. This one went faster than most, I really wasn't ready for the holidays this time. My mother came over for Christmas/Yule dinner, luckily my husband cooked, so it went well. My mother discovered that we like chocolate (I'm not sure why it took her so long to figure this out), so she bought us tons of chocolate. We're going to have to take some of it to work to avoid putting on 50 pounds.
We're still waiting for someone to buy our house, so we'll be in good old NJ for the time being. Rejoice.

Still no action on the house selling front. Hopefully September will be better. I went to Philly last weekend. I found a chocolate cafe there....

Our house has been on the market for over a week and we've already had the open house. No one actually showed up, but we had it. August is a lousy time to put a house on the market, but that's the way it worked out. At least the house is clean and neat. It's been raining a lot in Tucson lately. It figures. It knows we're moving up, so the rain is going ahead of us. Oh well, what can you do? Hopefully my house will sell soon.
This is my last day off work for awhile. I've been on "vacation" since Tuesday, but all I've been doing is cleaning the house so we can finally put it on the market. My husband is doing all the heavy repairs and such, but we are not the best housekeepers, so it's been non-stop fun with cleaning. We still have more to do, but I think we can put the house on the market by the end of this week. I hope so anyway. The sooner we sell it, the sooner we go to Arizona. Everyone is the neighborhood is selling their house. I guess everyone was scared by the near miss with the storm a couple of weeks ago. We were lucky and didn't flood at all, but no one wants to wait around and hope we don't get flooded next time. I'm looking forward to some nice dry desert.
I can't believe I haven't written in a couple of months. As usual I've been busy, but I'm also in the process of packing up everything we own so my husband and I can move to Arizona and I've been cleaning my house in NJ to get it ready for sale. It's a big pain in the ass, but it'll be worth it when it's done. I guess I'll have to get my lazy ass online more often. The only exciting thing I've done lately was going to Dracula's Ball. And this time I actually made it to the Ball. Unto Ashes was good, but didn't seem comfortable performing live. Gothminister was really good. They put on a great show...lots of props and such. Well, back to packing, whee.....
I had a non-stop exciting weekend. On Friday I had a migraine, so I went home early thus losing 5 hours of sick time. On Saturday I had a root canal. At some point I plan on actually doing something fun. But that may have to wait while we clean up our disaster of a house so we can move to Arizona. I miss the lizards. And the relative lack of pollen.
