Here's a neat ( short) article on the importance of using space to focus your work around the subject. Editing my paintings notoriously my weak point, so I found it interesting. When I'm really focused I've gotten a little better at using the composition to lead the eye threw the work but this technique really showed me how to be conscious of my use of space within the elements of the painting themselves.
