So life in the big city is crazy exciting! I love my 2 jobs, but I'm still looking for a serving job in BK.. any suggestions? I've been all over CL...
Also, are there any NYC people around that would want to get together? Or any SG events? Its really hard to meet people out here when you're so busy!!!

SOOOO much is going on! I have a job at NYLON Magazine and HAUTE LIVING MAGAZINE! I am moving to NYC on March 8... my dreams are coming true... my head is gonna explode!! Who lives in NYC that wants to hook up?~

The name of my trip to NYC is either going to be: My subterranean adventure or 40 ways to die in Brooklyn.
Within the first 24 hours upon my arrival I:
Drank my weight in Jameson.
Was exposed to a J- shaped dick I was not expecting. (It sobered me up, I was so frightened)
Met my doppleganger.
Got attacked by a pitbull. (I am fine, thank you)
Got a tetanus shot.
And almost maced myself. (Don't ask)
I can't believe I made it hope in one piece. It was fun though!
I am not sure I love it as much as I thought I would. I am definitely in like with NYC, but I am not sure I am in love.
This perplexes me because, that has always been such an integral part of my persona. That, along with how introverted I've become is weirding me out....
I never thought NYC would cause a 1/4 life crisis haha.
Anyone know how to deal w/ this? Thoughts?

I finally got around to reactivating my account. I'm glad to be back! I missed you all! I've very excited about 3 things:
1. I'm engaged!
2. I am working as a reporter for a local newspaper, as well as freelancing regularly for Outlook Columbus and AMMO magazine. Ugh it's so fulfilling and nice to be doing real journalism and not being threatened/sexually harassed by a total dickweed boss.
3. I am going to NYC at then end of October. I can't wait! What should I see (that's not super tourist-y)
I've missed you all so much and I'm so glad to be back!!!

I have been sending out resumes and cover letters like WHOA lately. Its been intense.
Its paying off though! I got a job offer in NYC... I gotta see how much it pays before I can go (obviously) but I REALLY WANNA TAKE IT! Its an editorial position for a music/event website... BOOM

I can't wait for this quarter to be over. All I've done all summer is work and study. No fun at ALL!!!!!

So recently two of my very close friends have moved to the big apple. One got a job as a sous chef at some midtown spot- and the other got a job at a posh salon as a stylist. I am soo proud of both of them. Their achievements made me reflect on my own.
So I am 22 and I have a great job writing for an arts/entertainment magazine- as well as a full class load. I graduate next winter with a bachelor's in Strategic Communication and Visual Communication design. I caught myself thinking- "okay this time next year i will have an apartment of my own...this...that...the other... blah blah blah" Then i started to think- Wow... Is C-bus a permanent spot for me. I keep making excuses for staying but my whole life I've wanted to move and live in NYC. Sooooo ... what to do....
I would have to wait until I graduate anyway- so it wouldn't be until next winter. BUT... I want to get all the information from all my NYC friends here on SG about what I gotta do to make it to the big apple. What is the best way to get a writing/information design job- What kind of housing market is there- what should I know/do before I move... things like that.

Worst week/ weekend ever.
Wednesday- I was in the ER for a Kidney Infection.... alone
Thursday I got my hair done- excited that I was getting the chance for the first time in months... After orange highlights (that weren't intentional) to dying it all over black AGAIN- to asking for a cool new haircut... After 5 hrs and 107 dollars later I ended up w/ a root touch up and a trim. WTF.
Friday- My fever from the Kidney Infection returned and I had to call off work because of all of the body aches and chills and sweats. I HATE calling off of work.
Saturday- I went into work at B-dubs at 6 pm. I found out at 7:23 one of my good friends and co-workers had died in a car accident. She was on her way to see her younger brother play football for Duke University. She never made it.
Sunday- While trying to find comfort from losing Lacey- one of the most beautiful and wonderful people I have ever known, I realize that once again- like on Wednesday I'm alone. I have 587 facebook friends and outside of the ones in my Bible Study group, my best friend Sara and my fellow b-dubs coworkers- I'm not getting any support.. WTF. I bend over backwards to support so many people when they are in need. I hate that no one was going to do it for me.
I don't know what to do. I have finals next week and I can't stop crying- wtf.
