I’m flying to Minneapolis in a couple days for a family reunion. My aunt and uncle are flying out from New York. We are celebrating my nephew’s, sister’s and aunt’s birthday. I have not seen my aunt and uncle in years and years. I also can’t wait to see my mom cuz let’s face it, that chick rawks.

My friends are also having a BBQ while I’m in town. I cant wait to hangout with them again and catch up. They are so amazing. I miss them so much all the time.

Summer time in Minneapolis is a great thing. I plan on biking a lot and eating Jimmy John’s till my gut pops. Bloodys at The Triple Rock and fries at The Bulldog. A show at First Ave and smoking and sunbathing while I sip homemade ice tea.

About two weeks ago, I was driving down my street and I didn't make a full stop at a stop sign. I was pulled over and the police officer asked me why I blew through the stop sign. I told her, honestly, when I see no traffic is coming and I'm able to turn, I will just do it, simple as that. She was really surprised I told her the truth. She really couldn't get over it. I told her know the LAPD are lied to all day, and that they are trained to know when they are being lied to, so there really is no reason to lie to her. She was so touched.Really touched. She decided to do me a favor and instead of fine me for running a stop sign ,that would cost 800 bucks, she would cit me for driving without prof of insurance. This is way easier and cheaper to deal with than a 800 dollar fine. She gives me the citation and wishes me well. Best interaction with LAPD ever.

So I today, I grab the mail and get a court notice in the mail. I'm getting a full fine for running the stop sign and driving without prof of insurance . 880 dollars. And I have to appear in court AND I have a strike on my record.

This is what I don't get.First off, I was rewarded for telling the truth to the officer. The reward was getting of on a more minor charge ,which was a lie cuz I had my prof of insurance in my car. Then I actually get charged for it. So, the only way I can contest it is during my court appearance, if the officer is there, she wont be. And say I'm not guilty and get a lawyer. This is one of the most unfair, unjust thing that I have ever encountered with LAPD besides the time they wanted to arrest me for driving without a license on my person. I am fucking livid. I try to do the right thing and I'm punished for it 2 fold.

I wanted to just write a little about friendship. I've found in my life that at times, my friends are closer to me than family. Friendship is such a special thing. I know I'm sounding like a straight up cheeseball. But, really. My friends mean the world to me. Without them, I don't know where I would be.
Sometimes, I find my friends to be hurting, and in need of someone just to listen to them. Sometimes I find my friends to be over joyed and wanting someone to share in their happiness. No matter what the situation, I always try to be there for them. There are many friends on SG that mean so much to me. Probably, more than they know. I feel really lucky that I know you guys. You all are amazing people. To all my talented, funny, intelligent and gorgeous friends, I thank you for always being there for me.
