it's a done deal: i'm moving out to LA as the sales manager for the SoCal territory.... i hope to make the move the last week of december. in the meantime, i'll be hitting the west coast 2 or 3 times, boston twice and chicago at least once.

mrs 7sins is a little worried -- learning to drive, new friends, new hairdresser -- but this should be a great adventure for a few years.

not the best of picture of me in the profile but it does capture the feeling after having run the nyc marathon this sunday. it wasn't my fastest time -- 4:43, or almost 20% slower than last year. that wasn't what this race was about... i took my time crossing the bridges, soaking in the skyline from various vantages. i scanned the crowds along the avenues, loving the thousands who came out to cheer. and i allowed myself the pleasure of looking at central park just as the leaves are preparing to peak.

hope to replace the photo soon with something from amsterdam.

my halloween flat out rocked. went to a friend's place earlier on then went here for the rest of the night:

we went as batgirl and superman not out of any great love for the characters, but because it was easy and good for dancing -- which we did from 1 to 6. it was so much fun.

the rest of the week, i was in bed by 10 pm, catching up on my sleep for the race this weekend.

lots of tv this week, too. caught up on the last 3 episodes of smallville -- so lame when they have filler content. on the other hand, clark & lana FINALLY doing it and young aquaman guest starring make up for a doofs of hazard reunion.

netflix brought joy in the form of freaks and geeks disc 4. mrs 7sins grew up in a far away land, so she doesn't understand the delight i take in this show. i don't keep in touch with anyone from my high school (altho i'm still tight with my best friend who went to school in north dallas), and this show helps me figure out why, 42 minutes at a time.

mrs understands one thing: that her butt looks great in these:

booked the thanksgiving flight to amsterdam, but still trying to decide where to stay. any suggestions for a centrally located hotel?

sg burlesque on tuesday night was really good. i esp liked the routines with Chloe, Regan and the new girl Reno. Great music selection, great themes, great everything. Way crowded though.

i'm getting a little antsy about the work announcement. i was told it'd take a few more weeks to sort out, and i was hoping it'd be done by now. i like making plans, i like moving forward, and it feels like i'm just standing still.

pop culture update:

saw stellastarr at irving plaza: solid performance, and the new album pretty much avoids the whole sophmore slump syndrome. but they were dogging it a bit. the band doesn't seem to be having as much fun as they did just last year. hope they get their spark back.

saw "tristram shandy" last night -- hilarious, esp for steve coogan fans. michael wnterbottom is genius who just happens to make movies. a brit version of spike jonez or michel gondry.... longer post in film club

finally saw the smallville season 5 premiere: good, not great, as the gough/millar are content with rehashing the plot points from the Superman 2 movie... i thought they were resting on the neat-o FX tricks too much instead of fleshing the legend out more. but then again, there are still 20+ episodes to go....

It's been an interesting month to say the least. Big shake ups at the office, which might work in my favor. The uncertainty has caused turbulence all around, but I've made my peace with it and looking forward to whatever the future holds.

I've been to Chicago for work and play. Been very busy here in N-Y-C. And trying to plan trips to LA and Amsterdam. It's going to be non-stop action until the new year....
