Merry Christmas, enjoy your dinner!
No, i don't like Christmas, and i can't wait for 2012 to be here already.
"The bow of promise, this lost flaring star,
Terror and hope are in mid-heaven; but She,
The mighty-wing’d crown’d Lady Melancholy,
Heeds not. O to what vision’d goal afar
Does her thought bear those steadfast eyes which are
... A torch in darkness? There nor shore nor sea,
Nor ebbing Time vexes Eternity,
Where that lone thought outsoars the mortal bar.
Tools of the brain–the globe, the cube–no more
She deals with; in her hand the compass stays;
Nor those, industrious genius, of her lore
Student and scribe, thou gravest of the fays,
Expect this secret to enlarge thy store;
She moves through incommunicable ways."

It happened in my city, and it's a strange feelling to see that kind of awful thing happening where you live, in a place you love.
I went to work today, i walked across the streets, i saw peoples crying, i saw flowers everywhere on the floor, and the whole city was so quiet, nobody spoke in the streets. It was kind of weird, and really sad.
You always think it can't happen where you live, you always think it can't be true.
When i heard the news yesterday, i was really worried for my friends and my family. Luckily everybody is ok, but i can't stop thinking about thoses innocent peoples who died.
And what makes me even more sad and angry, it's all the stupid things peoples are telling about the origin of the killer. Like if everybody was waiting for this attack to express their racism. I discovered that many peoples around me were actually racist. I hate racism, i really do. Who cares about where that person comes from? He could have been from Belgium, or from Africa, or from Japan, it won't explain this awful act. I can't get it.
So many terrible things are happening every day, it makes me really sad to think about the world we live in.
Jacques Brel, Il neige sur Liège.
It snows, it is snowing over Liège,
and the snow above Liège, to snow, puts on gloves.
It snows, it is snowing over Liège,
crossing the black of the Maas (river) onto the brow of a white clown.
Broken is the cry
of the hours and of the birds,
of children in the cradle,
and of the black and of the gray.
It snows, it is snowing over Liège,
through which the river passes without a sound.
It snows, it is snowing above Liège,
and swirls so between the sky and Liège
that one doesn’t know if it snows, if it is snowing on Liège
or if it is Liège that is snowing toward the sky.
And the snow marries
first-time sweethearts,
lovers walking
on the whitened square.
It snows, it snows on Liège,
which the river carries away without a sound.
Tonight, this night, it is snowing on my dreams and on Liège,
which the river pierces through without a sound.
- Albert Camus
Oh, life, always full of surprises.

I feel happy, just happy.

(progress)
I have new project for my art, i am so motivated, so inspired, my head will explode with all the ideas and the desires i have. I know i'll succeed in my plans, i have now the feeling anything is possible.

Much has changed around me, in my life, and it's still changing a lot (i'm not only talking about work, or art, i'm talking about my way of life, about myself, about my feelings with other humans being, about my future). Travelling again and leaving Belgium, at least for a few months, is something i'm planning really seriously, and it makes me so happy. As some of you knows, i spent 8 months in Australia 4 years ago. It was, for sure, the best times of my life. Each day, i wake up, and i think about this country and the peoples i met there. I miss thoses times so much.
I begin to feel the need to travel again, the need to move on, to meet new peoples, discover new cultures, new landscapes. Canada is one of those country i want to visit. I'm taking as much informations as i can about the working holidays visa (the same i got for Australia), if everything is doing well, i could leave Belgium in a few years (2 years sounds great actually, as it takes time to obtain the visa, save money, etc...).
Until then, i hope to visit more countries, even if it's just for a few days, or some weeks.

Pavel Maria Smejkal has made a fascinating series of pictures which explore the way in which photos become ‘our culture heritage, our image bank, a memory of nations, a symbol, a propaganda instrument’. He has removed the most important part of each photograph, the element that has made the image a visual icon. Here are two examples - do you know what’s missing?

Caravaggio was born 29 September, in 1571 and died just 39 years later. He was believed by many to have created a revolution in art with his dark and tumultuous paintings which reflected his own dramatic, violent and complicated life. Do you agree with the French critic Andre Berne-Joffroy, who said: ‘What begins in the work of Caravaggio is, quite simply, modern painting.’
Oh look what i've got today:

And you know, i have a cat too:

How have you been?
I have been really, i mean REALLY busy during those last weeks.
Summer is almost gone (Well, can i still call it summer? As i just saw clouds and rain during those months), Autumn is already coming, and i'm totally in love with that time of the year! It's always so beautiful to see the nature with such colours as orange, red, yellow...
The good news of this blog is i actually found a new job, wich i'll begin in 2 days (i just can't wait, i'll finaly solve my money problems and save for futur travellings, how exciting it is).
I have been to Paris as well, i spent 5 days over there with one of my closest friend who actually lives there. I see her like twice a year, sometimes just once, so i was really happy to spend such times with her, we have to see each other more often!
(i'm bad to take pictures, i always forget my camera when i go somewhere, and each time i write a new SG blog, i'm like "shit, i have nothing to show you", what a pitty)
I also spent a lot of time drawing and reading (i would have loved spend much time walking outside, but the weather didn't want me to do this), i saw many friends (summer is always the time of the year i see a lot of peoples i usually don't see during the rest of the year).
Latest drawings (i'm now working on a new painting, but i don't want to show something about it now):

Some of the books (and magazines) i have read lately:

(this book is so so funny, i couldn't stop laughing while i was reading it, and it takes place in Australia, so it's even better)

(i usually don't read that kind of book, but the cover was too awesome that i had to read it, and it's finally not that bad, it's funny to read)
I went to the museum Felicien Rops.

I still love my crazy cat, a lot. <3

I decorated my flat, it's now the perfect place to work and to spend time in.

I saw the last Harry Potter, and i'm now so sad it's over.

September will be a great month, i can feel it already. I already planned so much stuffs, many peoples will come at my place, and i'll see my dear Geisha in a few days, oh i can't really wait, my life is so exciting for the moment!
I'm still into yoga, i try to do it as much as i can, at least twice a week, sometimes more often.
I'm as well planning a few shootings for october.
That's over for today, leave you with those pretty pictures:
(oh, and don't forget to join me on my facebook page, I post new work and news on it regularly: Miss Sucette)

I promised you a proper blog, let's do it then.
My life is sooo quiet actually. I'm still searching for a work, trying to earn and save money for futur travels, still painting and drawing a lot and doing a lot of sport, wich is really cool actually, i feel more pretty and healthy.
In other news, i'm selling this drawing:

"Like a fairy tale"
I finished this drawing yesterday, i really love this one.
It's graphite and charcoal on art paper, the entire drawing is 50 x 65 cm.
Drawing is unframed.
Contact me if you are interested, or if you want more infos about it.
A few days ago, i found this pretty awesome necklace. You all know how i'm obesessed about teeth:

Oh, and here are my cat and my rabbit:

What children’s skulls look like as they prepare to lose their baby teeth

Puyehue volcano in southern Chile has spread volcanic ash far and wide since it erupted in early June. On Monday, Argentina's president announced that economic relief would be provided to residents affected by the ash in the southwestern region of Patagonia. And as recent as July 1 ash in the atmosphere was disrupting flights at the Buenos Aires airport. These images show how the earth's landscape has been affected.

Sets you should not miss:
I'm planning a few shootings for futur sets, i really can't wait, it's been a while since i showed my ass around here.
