Greatness.

I got promoted! My third day at this Petsmart (I worked at one in Dallas for over a year) and they promoted me. I'm now in charge of the fish/small animal/bird dept. I get a nice little raise, too! It's nice to know that someone noticed how hard I work.

IT ISN"T FUCKING FAIR! Why is it that people who smoke get paid cigarette breaks multiple times throughout the day but I only get one 15 minute break in an 8 hour shift because I don't smoke? While I'm working my ass off you fucking smokers are outside chatting for half an hour and getting PAID to take your cancer sticks. I don't give a fuck how bad you need it, you should be able to get through an 8 hour shift without taking anything but your 30 min. lunch break.

I'm gonna start taking "mountain dew" breaks because I need my caffeine fix.

EDIT: Management are all, of course, smokers, so they're as guilty as the rest of the smokers.

My weekend was pretty cool. I dragged the boy to the 2008 Paint World Show in Fort Worth, which is always great to go to. He's never really understood horse showing, but he ended up having a good time.

We watched the Equitation class (which in case you don't know, is an english class that judges the ability of the rider, not the horse) which was really terrible. The way they have those stock horses move is nothing like a good english horse.. they're basically western horses with english saddles slapped on their backs. Their heads are too low, and all their gaits are way too slow.

Next was Pro Reining though, and that is always awesome. The boy loved watching that, because the horses so obviously love their jobs, and all the maneuvers are actually worth knowing. Here's some random pics of that class.

I had my first night at the new job last night. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I worked at Petsmart for a year in 2006, so I didn't have to be trained and just went right to working. Woohoo for bagging fish all night! Actually a pretty easy job to do. Call the fish dept at Petsmart and you might be lucky enough to hear me say "Petsmart where pets are family this is "Zippo" how can I help you?"

I'm about to head off to Denton/Dallas/Fort Worth for a few days to hang out with BMXSpears and hopefully Saint ... but I figured I would post this... this movie is my all-time guilty pleasure. Its called "Stick It" and its about gymnastics. These girls are fed up with all the rules in gymnastics, and after a teammate executes a perfect vault maneuver that hasn't been successfully done in 15 years, the judges give her a 9.5 because "her bra strap was showing". All the girls hold an organized rebellion, choosing who they want to win and having all the other girls scratch. Then Wei Wei does this kick ass impromtu bar routine that makes me all giddy inside. Here it is.

I took the dogs for a walk last night. It was pretty saddening actually because the woods where we usually walk have been mowed down by the church that owns the lot. As if their gigantonormous hideously ugly church isn't enough, they had to level another 2 acres of beautiful woods to build god knows what. I mean, there are EIGHT churches on that road within a mile! EIGHT! And THREE of them are Baptist churches! WHY???
We still had a nice little walk, though. Deetsie likes to play fetch up and down the hillside... the dog is a fucking billygoat. He can climb up nearly-verticle slopes.

And Landon is an agility champion, so he was showing Deetsie how to jump over stuff.

And then we came home to crash. Landon thinks he's a lap dog and fell asleep in my lap.


I watched the Other Boleyn Girl today for the first time. Holy shit. Definitely goes into my "favorite movies" list. Its got EVERYTHING... love, seduction, betrayal... its the PERFECT story to show the vindictiveness of women, because lets face it ladies, when it comes to quarrels men just have it out with their fists, but we get sneaky and nasty and malicious, don't deny it. The only thing the movie was missing was a good fight scene... and Scarlett's boobies. That woulda been nice to see.


I'm going to Dallas this weekend to watch the APHA World Show for a few days before I start at Petsmart. My first day I have a THREE hour shift... what a kick in the balls. The next day I have OFF, and then I have a 10pm-1pm shift! WTF!? I did NOT agree to work until 1am! I'm so not into this job... I'm going to go in the first day and lay it out... I want a pet training job within the next month, or I'm out.

My boyfriend and I went to Arkansas for 5 days. We stayed in a friend's cabin in northern Arkansas, way out in the boondocks. No cell phone service. The roads to the cabin were dirt roads that went on and on, and at one point plunged downhill and was kinda skeery. So here's a bunch of random pics.

Its right on the banks of the White River, and had a really cool little dock that went down to the water. The stairs were pretty sketch.

My friend Chloe came from Missouri to visit me. It was awesome.

We found this little copperhead by the porch! Had to lock the dogs inside and chase him out of the yard. He was an aggressive little fuck.

I found out the wheel on my car is CRACKED! I have to find a new wheel and replace it. Poo. I was supposed to go up to Tulsa to see my friend who's getting married, and it won't happen.

And get this... my energy bill has been consistently under $50 for the last 8 months. This last month I get the bill back and its $138!!!! But here's the kicker, my AC has been broken for 2 months, and they JUST fixed it! Its been OFF! How the FUCK did my bill go up that month with no AC!? I'm arguing with the company about it as I speak, and having the meter re-read.
