Off to Ontario for 5 days to spend time with my family. Outside of my parents and their spouses I haven't seen anyone in over a year and a half! This is an overdue visit, even if it means skipping one test in my biology class.
Getting over that stupid little heartbreak and resuming the fun.
...or I would be if I wasn't at work, at school, or studying. This will all pay off someday!
For now, 5 days of rest. Maybe a photo blog when I return.

I'm a bit late with this but I just wanted to point out the good times I had during my brief stint at Fan Expo in Vancouver last weekend!
I was there for about... 3.5 hours. That's it for the whole weekend, thanks to work and exams all at the same time as the con. Oh well! Good times were still had and laughs were still laughed. The other girls there all posted way more photos but here are a few I stole from various places...

With some dudes.

With this dude, who then took photos with us all individually and took our signatures from the comic (I think? Or did we sign something else?) and superimposed them:

This particular Silent Bob might just hook me & Aadie up with some chain mail...

Seriously awesome costumes. And wired costumes too -- they had music!

And Tita's perfect insta-sum up.
Thanks for the good times Aadie, Tita, Rydell, Ceres, Peatrie, Cruella, and Harajuku!

Hi guys!
I just finished my longest and last paper of the semester and all I have left now is a test tomorrow and a group presentation on Friday. But that paper took forever so I deserve a break before hitting the biology books. So you get an update from me! Almost a month after my last update! SORRY!
But really there was nothing to update you about. It was a month of this:

Yes, I did notice myself starting to look that dazed. And yes, sometimes I needed my highlighter to keep my head propped up.
At some point in there the times changed, and we all lost an hour of sleep one Saturday night. Do you find it takes you days to recover from the time change? I do! It really didn't help that I worked late Saturday night and then again Sunday morning. I think I felt back to normal by Friday... Give me a "fall back" any day, but this springing ahead thing sucks.
Time changes make me paranoid. I fear I'll get it wrong somehow and end up an hour or two off from everyone else and won't know until I show up an hour early or late for something. The possibilities are endless! What if I changed a clock before bed that would have changed automatically at 2 or 3 in the morning and then I'm off? What if I think something will change automatically but it doesn't? Etc. So I deal with it like this:

...and leave it like that for a few days until I feel OK with the new time. I used to just call my mum, but I live in a different time zone so I can't any more because it would be unfair to make her do the math. Even if she's better at math than I am.

That was when my cat decided that the laptop on my lap was no match for her and she just needed snuggle time right then, so she wedged herself between my face and the computer.
She's not always so loving though:

Seriously, Heidi? My textbooks are not scratching posts. And my toe isn't either.
So when she's bratty I go find new friends:

The funny thing is that I actually paid $5 to do this (but it was for charity). I have been so tired that almost anything ridiculous would seem like a good idea...

Though that was just a sticker on the bus giving me a compliment. The woman sitting in the adjacent seat actually moved her legs out of the way when I was taking the photo. See, compliments make people feel good!
Speaking of which, THANK YOU for your continued lovely comments on At Home -- it's broken 700 comments at 98% and I am thrilled. Let's see if we can get it on the front page!
Have yourself a lovely afternoon and do tell me, are you planning anything for April Fool's Day?

Thank you, all of you, for your lovely reception of my new set "At Home" (which hit MR on Monday). I've been busy as a bee and haven't had much of a chance to express my appreciation, though I've peeked at your comments and tried to catch up on sets as well.
This set is the first I've ever shot in my own place. During my time on SG I've lived in one place in Montreal, one in the Bay Area, two in Victoria, and now this one in Vancouver. (And I have stayed at countless others!) It was also the first time I'd shot with Lavonne, who did a really lovely job. I'm sure she has photos of me falling...
And since some of you have asked, yes, I've taken my nipple piercings out. One day I was just tired of them and after they were gone I felt so free. Which is ridiculous, but I went with it. A time and a place for everything; this time the time was over for the place.
If you haven't taken a look at the set yet, perhaps I can entice you?

It's midterms week and I'm plodding through. So far, so good, but Thursday has the dreaded A&P (anatomy & physiology). It's only dreaded because the instructor's style of testing has no logic or system behind it; you really have to know every word she has ever said in class and some other stuff too. Even if it's about a frog. Never mind that all the students in the class are in various (human) nursing programs, not the vet program... So I can't really plan my studying by thinking "oh, we'll have to do skin assessments all the time, so the integumentary system is obviously really important." None of my other classes are like this so it's a new and disorienting experience.
Of course if this is my biggest problem right now, I should probably point out that life is pretty great.
Here's why you haven't heard from me in a few weeks...
My week kind of starts on Thursday.
up at 6am
on the skytrain by 7am
classes 8:30am - 4:30pm
home around 6pm
then studying
then sleeping.
Fridays are my long days
starting at 6am
skytrain 7
one class at 8:30
over at 10:30
get to work by noon
work until 8pm
home, chill, bed
Saturdays & Sundays I'm
up at 4:45am
on the bus at 5:25
at work 6:15 -1:45pm
then home & studying
until bed
On Mondays I am...
up between 5:30 & 6am
out the door by 6:45am
in classes 8am - 4pm
home 5:30pm
study
sleep
On Tuesdays I am...
sleeping in until 7:30-8am!
gone by 9am
bio lab 10:30am
ethics class 12-4pm
home by 5:30pm
I like to pretend I can hang with friends,
but usually I'm studying until bed.
On Wednesdays I have...
one glorious day off!
but usually I study
& clean my apartment
because there's no other time to do it.
In other words I'm really, really busy... and really, really happy.
Oh & guess who has a new set on the horizon? Lavonne will be sending it in shortly (or perhaps already has). This will be the first time you'll see Yulia in her glasses (in a set at least, because I'm sure I've posted photos of my spectacled self before.
