My mum has officially moved to Florida. She has had enough of snow and the shoveling and/or blowing of it. In addition, she will no longer be Driving In Snow, Walking Through Snow, Looking At Snow or otherwise Experiencing Snow in any other way. I am sure in the next few weeks she will be on the phone with me Mocking Me For Being Covered In Snow. This has been her master plan for as long as I can remember and not until last winter when my brother almost totaled his car due to The Snow did I truly believe she was going to achieve it any time soon. BUT SHE HAS. She has not told my grandmother that as part of her snow rehabilitation she will not be coming to her house in WI for X-Mas. She didn't really SAY this but I felt like her statement carried an implied "ever again for as long as I live". Not because my mother and grandmother don't get along. ON THE CONTRARY. My maternal family is very close. It is merely a testament to my mother's deep and enduring hatred of The Snow. We are lobbying heavily for X-Mas in July so that we can get together when it is warm and awesome out and have a fire and toast marshmallows and watch fireworks and exchange presents without all of the hassle and expense involved in holiday traveling. We'll see if it happens.

Thank you for all of the congratulations, everyone, and for everyone who has been enquiring about my employment status. No, I do not have a job yet. Yes, I have been sending out copies of my resume. No, I did not pad it. Yes, I am signed up with a temp agency. They have called me three times since I went in and took my Excel testing (Proficient, in case you were curious.) and only one of the leads has been good. No, I do not want to work for a strip club. Despite evidence to the contrary, I have no interest in taking off my clothing in front of other people.

In other news we had to use a good chunk of our wedding money to fix the brakes on DD's truck. LAAAME. But with The Snow coming I think it was a pretty prudent course of action. We still haven't fixed the hood on my car since that stupid accident I got into. I want to just get a new car but it is not that feasible right now due to the money situation.
