Thanks for all the love on my MR set. I was trying to go with something different than the rest of my sets. I'm so hardcore!
Life has been so busy lately. Its time for a new journal entry.
I get a lot of questions about being from New Orleans, on the net and off of it. I love my city so I figured I would answer a few of them...
1. Is New Orleans as dangerous as it is portrayed in the media?
Yes and No. I have lived here my entire life and the worse thing that has ever happened to me is my car was broken into, once, and nothing was taken. New Orleans does have a high crime rate, but most of the murderes in the city are drug or gang related. Not that that makes it any better, but you can pretty much tell what areas of the city you should and shouldn't be in. The downside is that these areas are spread throughout the city and sometimes 3 blocks away from the nicer areas.
2. Where is your accent?
Well, New Orleans is a port city. Our accent isn't like any other accent on the gulf coast or in the south really. I catch crap from my relatives for sounding like I am from A) New York or B)Canada. I don't take offense, but they find it hilarious. I don't hear it, though! Yes we have a few New Orleanian catch phrases that you will not hear anywhere else. And I do say "y'all" and "where y'at".
3. What does your french tattoo mean?
Its a cajun french saying that is popular in southern Louisiana. "Laissez les bon temps rouler" means let the good time roll. I don't remember where I read this but the best description I have found is a "lust for life".
4. So, boobs and beads?
Only during Mardi Gras. If you wear mardi gras beads any other time of the year I will point and laugh at you!!
And New Orleans is a costume kind of city, so dress to impress!
5. Were you affected by Katrina?
Yes, I lost everything I owned. All of my photos and family knick knacks. We had nine foot of water sit in our house for days. I am lucky though. I still have my life and my loved ones. Katrina affected my life in such a way that I would not be the same person today if it hadn't happened. Its a very bitter-sweet concept, but its the only way I can look at it. I am so sick of people who walk around the city and still whine and moan about their lost possessions from Katrina. Yes, we can be sad and look at it as a tragedy. We can mourn the lives that were taken, But seriously get over the loss of your big screen and move on.
So I guess those are the most commonly ask questions. Let me know if you have anymore!!
I just wanted to thank everyone for the lovely birthday wishes! Y'all are great! I had a pretty eventful night on my bday. Well it started off kind of shitty. I went over to the parent's house for dinner. My dad usually spends hours and hours on meals, he is kind of obsessed on making food perfect. Hey no complaints here! He didn't have time so we ended up eating pasta, I enjoyed it but he kept making jokes. Happy Birthday, here's some noodles. Then I went to a wine bar in the city. For the first hour it was me, my mom, and my bf. Then my mom started to freak out about forgetting to "do the cake", apparently she had picked it up and just forgot to serve it. Again, didn't bother me but it was kind of funny how botched my birthday was turning out. Plus I had kind of been down about it for about a week anyways. I invited all of my close friends, and most of them bailed. Two of my friends showed up so we went to the casino so that I could spin the birthday wheel. I spun annnnnnnnddddd won $1000!!! So a shitty bday turned out being a pretty wonderful one. I wanted to save the money for something responsible, but everyone said that is ridiculous because it was FREE money. So I splurged a little bit on some new dermals.
So yay! I love them, they are still a little sore.
Oh and I may just have another set to look forward to. Keep your eyes peeled!
You ever get super overwhelmed? I work and go to school all day what feels like everyday. Everyone keeps telling me to slow down, but honestly I kinda feel like a work-a-holic on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The other day I had a dream about being on a sinking ship and the only way I could save the ship was to take care of all the dogs (I work at a vet) and then I had to wait tables so the ship wouldn't sink (I moonlight at a restaurant sometimes), I had to force myself to wake up before I hyper ventilated.
On a brighter note Halloween is coming up, and I am sooo excited. Isn't it everyone's favorite holiday? The Voodoo Tattoo Expo will be that weekend, I really wish SG was working it. But I am pretty sure me and a few of the locals may be going. Then to Mom's Ball, for a night of complete debauchary.
Thanks to everyone who gave love on the new set. It really did feel good to be on the front page again after so long. I hope to be shooting with another staff photog very shortly, but that will be another blog another day!
I just wanted to thank everyone for the lovely comments they have left on my newest set. I had a blast shooting with AlissaBrunelli, she is truly a rad chick! Its so exciting to see all of the awesomme sets that were shot at Hell City. A few have gone up in MR so far...

and
Oh man Hell City was a fucking blast! I met so many lovely ladies. We got to see the World's Most Tattooed man, Rubber Boy, and Roller Derby Girl Boxing. There were so many great artists out there, which meant I had to get a tattoo right? Well it did.
Done by Keller from Florida
I also shot a set with AlissaBrunelli, which I am super excited about!
So all in all it was a very eventful weekend!
So tomorrow I head for Hell City Phoenix!!!! I am so excited to meet all the lovely ladies and work the convention. I am traveling all by my self for the first time, so my nerves are all jumbled up. It should be fun though, I just hope I don't get stuck to the smelly guy that snores.
Don't forget to check out my sets in MR, its been so long since I have had a set go live. I am really hoping that Zippo and my multi will go live.
