You know what makes me cry? People pissing away all their care and effort on the prettiest creatures instead of where it matters.

Tigers have been having a hard time for decades and people have been fawning over them for decades.

In the meantime dozens upon dozens of animal and plant species are going extinct every single year. Extinction is normal but the rate of extinction we're causing far outpaces natural evolution's ability to replace diversity.

Those cutesy endangered animals that make such good marketing for wildlife charity are fairly irrelevant compared to what's actually happening.

I know what you mean and I've been tormented since childhood by what we've been doing to life on this planet. I have to say that when encountering someone as thoughtful, caring and enlightened as you are, I feel a lot less ashamed of our species.

I'm with you entirely but also partly agree with Snottlebocket. We have to look at the entire system holistically. In fact, right now one of the greatest dangers to us all (and I mean all species) is the extinction of bees.
