'Cracked' effect nail varnish. My friend got it for me, he thought it was the best thing ever. You paint on a colour nailvarnish (I had pink with gold glitter on top), then you paint on the black stuff, and then you watch and wait as it seperates and cracks on top. That picture sucks though.

When I tie my hair back, and walk around in my yoga-pantaloons-style trousers and black hoody (I pretty much only wear black), people give me a lot of weird looks, because I look like a goth-hippy-boy-girl. And that's just too many oppositions in one person for them to deal with.

I collect them. Damn, I'm still a collector!!! I only just got rid of the marbles and POGS! Gah. How could I not have noticed. Well anyway, at least they're free. I used to wonder who was dropping so many red elastic bands everywhere. Its the post man! This thing is now bigger than my fist. It took a year and a half. I've been living in this neighborhood that long.

I started growing some plants. A strawberry, parsley, chives, thyme, and some little flowers, and a bulb (Holiday Iris? something like that). The strawberries (all 3 of them!) were ready to eat yesterday, and they were amazing. They smelled like strawberry sweets, even the smell was really intense. And the biggest one looked like a sacred heart. See?

I went on the London Slutwalk. It was great! It was nice to be around lots of angry provatively dressed women. Here are some photos on my flickr - london slutwalk pictures. Yeah, it was great. The speakers were brilliant. Be it artist, poet, queer, transgender, prostitute, muslim, black, white, man, woman... they all had great things to say.

RANT AHOY!!! PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
I once saw an NHS advert, before I went to university, that made me really angry. A guy is dressed like Superman getting drunk. He decides to rescue a girl's balloon. He climbs up some scaffolding and falls down and dies. The message is to not drink too much. There was one for a woman, dressed as Wonderwoman. She's flirting with guys. She ends up getting raped. What does that say? "Women! Don't drink, you might get raped! Men! Don't drink, you might act all brave and fall over!" Hmmm. I hadn't been to university and I didn't know much about feminism at that point, but it really pissed me off. Especially as a boisterous drunk who likes climbing things. Double standards. Plus, its always, wear conservative clothes, don't drink, don't party, don't go out alone, bring a man with you, get a man to pick you up at the station, blah blah blah. Not, men, don't rape women. See what I mean?

Women! Know your limits!

At the march, one woman was holding a sign that said, "whatever you were wearing, it wasn't your fault." Another said "Whatever we wear, wherever we go, yes means yes and no means no." Its not right to blame clothes, drink, being alone. These things are a distraction. They're aren't the person who raped someone.

I like men, I like women, I like sexy clothes, I like sex, I like porn, I like freedom and free will and independance. So although lots of people had bad things to say about the message behind Slutwalk, and had arguments with the name, and were against the sexualisation of the protesters, actually, I agreed with it a lot, and I have no arguments with the message. Some people didn't like the word 'slut' being used because they found it offensive. But isn't that the thing?! Some people on the march wanted to reclaim the word. Personally I am not bothered about reclaiming it because it doesn't worry me. The word slut means very little to me. I've been called a slut by people who want to belittle me. Well pffff. How is that supposed to worry me? Men and women should be encouraged to own their sexuality and their sexual activity, and everyone can do whatever they like for all I care, as long as they're not hurting anyone). I think there's a slut pride group on SG, well GREAT. I don't know why I'm talking about this on SG, you're all open-minded wonderful individuals, I am preaching to the converted. Love you guys x

Its a bit sad when girls get asked "Are you a feminist?" and they say something like "well I care about women's rights but I'm not like one of those crazy dykes!" That's kind of the exact thing that divides people when they should be united. If you're a woman and you worry about looking a man directly in the eye when you pass him, or about going out at night alone, or about whether you should wear that skirt tonight because you don't know everyone who'll be there, then you still have a problem, and this stuff should STILL matter to you. It doesn't matter what you call yourself. You shouldn't have to live in fear of rape or judgment just because you weren't born with a wang.
