The pictures look awesome. Sadly I read an article in the evening standard advertising the slutwalk, it was almost perfect except she attacked what she called 'hijacked feminism' by strippers and then playboy for being involved in hardcore pornography. Feminism seems to be a little split these days...
I hear you on the rant. Totally. Don't be mad at the women who don't want to be associated with 'crazy dykes' though. There are extreme people out there who, unfortunately, give respectable causes bad press. It's a fair reaction, I think, to wish to distinguish oneself from such extremists.
I can see how one comment would get lost in a sea of admirers
For me, I coach because I used to play semi pro roller hockey, I am an exeptional skater but have no where to skate...since there is no roller hockey anymore, I can't coach or play...when derby started I joined to help out where I could BUT when I got there and began to learn the sport, was back on skates and saw the team develop I fell in love with the sport.
I think most other men coach because it is a great sport and they can't play...so what better way to be involved.
I had to give up my team to deploy with work, the coach and assistant coach now are both women, as a matter of fact we have lots of female coaches in our league. Refs too. When I move I think I'm going to pursue refing derby instead.
They do have mens leagues around, it's just not the same...and now that I'm 37, it would be harder to keep up with those young guys anyway. Besides...it's more fun with a lot of women around
i used to work at a convienence store that had the lamest selection of knock-off pogs. we would try and slip them in with customers purchases and make elaborate traps where they would fall on people or hid them in weird places
