SO! It's been a little bit since I updated, and I realized not checking in the last few weeks was really rude!
It's exactly 3 weeks this minute since my appendectomy. The operation went very smoothly! I found out that I'm funny when I come out of anesthesia. Apparently I was trying to convince my post op nurse that I was a porn star, to get a membership on SG, and to come visit me at work and get dances when I'm better. 0_0
I suppose you can't take the sales out of the girl! haha
Also, I was cursing a lot, and loudly. Not out of anger, but like when a child finds out about a bad word and thinks it's hilarious.
On the drive home while I was still coming down, I was just weird.
Iodine boobies.
Odin kept me great company while I was stuck in bed. Along with a few stuffed animals a couple sweet members sent me off of my wishlist. <3 <3 <3!!!
I planned a ton of little projects to do while I was rather immobile.
Beading watching my friends climb
Here is how i spent the remainder of the time I've been recovering: Antigone made me this sign!
My friend just started baking school... I'm going to have to start running.
There has been an insane amount of bees dying and dead in my front yard. They aren't any where else, neighbors or in other spots of my yard space, no one has sprayed, and no fertilizer is used around my house. I am stumped.
Also, while I've been house bound, I've been watching TONS of The X Files. I realized after episode 63, that my brain was no longer capable of compartmentalizing all of the creatures and conspiracies.
This was me during episode 64:
Over memorial weekend, I went up to the mountains to make a fire, change my scenery, and watch my friends climb along with my Basecamp X axe
I might have tried to climb just a little bit..
And we caught a lizard!!!
The one thing I have been able to do is take pictures! And oh I have been!
This happened!!
Catrina's set was bought and was officially my first published set
A set of Antigone, that you won't be seeing for quite a while.
Thanks Marty, for being extremely professional and respectful of to small ladies alone on the cliffs.
Nicely done.
I've been selling prints, and it has been so amazingly helpful. I think the only reason I haven't been in absolute panic due to not working and bringing in my regular income is thanks to you who have bought prints from me. I feel so grateful for all of the love and support.
There are still a few of each print left too!
And thanks to still being limited on my mobility, they are coming wrapped up all fancy and topped with a snake bone! hehe
They are available at VenomPrints.etsy.com
And again, thank you so much for your support!
Now to finish off this installment, here is some funny stuff:
My kid sister sent me this. I may have ripped my stitches laughing.
Don't forget,
The truth is out there..
IG and Vine. @VenomBlackbird Tumblr My photography Tumblr
And PS3, VenomBlackBird
I had the most amazing weekend last week. I took a much needed few days off work and headed to the mountains for some R&R&C
Rest:
Relaxation:
And Climbing:
I found a manzanita tree that I may have become too mystified by..
The little bits of moss growing on the branches, and the banyan like bark growth.. ooh man.. faunagasm.
The clouds were incredible also
On our drive back home, we made a pit stop to see my best friend and hop on a horse! It had been at least a year since I've sat on one. It felt amazing.
The week kept just kept getting better. Dali came and stayed with me for a few days on her way back from the Coachella Music Festival. It was my first time meeting her in person, she is such a doll! We shot so much amazing stuff! Including a set you will be seeing in a little while.
(coming soon-ish, Kapre)
And then I turn on my computer the morning she had to leave to this:
I'm so happy River Jak was so well received! I've read every comment and they make me feel lovely!
Alissa was kind enough to send me the high res images, so I decided to throw small batch of my favorite photo in my Etsy shop!
The line up is looking pretty good
If you want to pick on up for yourself visit: VenomPrints.etsy.com There are only a few of each print so grab 'em while there hot!
And your support is super appreciated, I am going to have to take almost month off of work for my upcoming appendectomy and I am sure having some sales here and there will help a lot
Oh man.. I am so nervous for my surgery. I am surprised I managed to even make the appointment. I have never been under anesthesia (aside from 5 seconds of laughing gas when I was 7 so my mom could finally rip out a baby tooth that had been dangling for a week!), has any one had any experience with going under? I know it's not a big deal and I am probably being very silly, but it just scares the daylights out of me. Given my profession there are a lot of girls at my workplace who have undergone cosmetic surgeries, but i haven't been able to find any comfort in their stories as of yet... I'm just going to keep telling myself I will be just fine.
Because I will be
In other news, my super great friend Catrina finally has the set I shot of her up in MR!
We would both love your support! the set is called Lumos and I for one think she looks as babely as ever!
Also, remember Dominoe?
She's havin a baaaay beeee!
Man, she has only gotten more gorgeous over the years.

I found out my man and I were born on the exact same moon (exact like - within a few minutes exact)
(*not the moon we were born on, just a moon)
Diane,
It is 10:22 in the morning, Wednesday, Southern California.
I have just stepped out of the shower and wait with eager anticipation for the day's first cup of coffee.
Could you have guessed I am watching Twin Peaks right now? Thank you Netflix for rekindling the flame!
I have been seeing so many lady friends lately! Radeo came out to LA for the west coast Hard Girls Soft Light book tour, and needless to say i had to rally myself up north to see her.
Callioppe, Radeo, and I on a little hike.
We found a couple snakes and some weird cool leaf bugs. (I didn't manage to get a photo of the rattler)
Back at the pool
Radeo shot some intant photos
The next morning we headed south for the first stop on the book tour
(the worlds worst photographer was found^)
and we definitely didn't feed any of the animals, because that would have been breaking the rules..
The turn out was awesome! There were so many people, it was actually a little surprising! Thanks every one who stopped by!
After the signing and party night at bar pink, Radeo and Rigel were on the road to start their road trip.
(on a side note)
I found an amazing pizza place near me that offers the best vegan pizza I have ever had.
The Friday after the book signing frankieacuna72 stopped by my work and mentioned he had his storm trooper helmet with him.. Needles to say, this happened:
I took a quick trip up to the LA area again to spend the day with my one and only Kemper
I brought a lot of technology with me.. but we did shoot some fun stuff:
including a new set for myself
Found this little guy
And her friend had these^v
In other news, GAME OF THRONES SEASON 3

This:
And this:
I cant wait to start sending them off! I have awesome surprises that will be included!
In other news, Vine is awesome. Does any one else have a Vine account? My user name is VenomBlackBird, and for those of you who dont know what it is, it's very similar to instagram or twitter, but you get 7 seconds worth of video instead of a photo. I love it!
Does any one know how to post short videos here without having to upload them? I'd love to share some of mine!
Here are a couple for good measure:
(my very first vine that wouldnt upload. )
I think thats all for now?
Thanks again for all the love on River Jak!
And go check out my latest (me the photographer) set from Misfitt, River wolf
Also,
Thank you for all of the wonderful feedback on my new photo set ^_^
I've read through all of the comments, and they make me feel wonderful! River Jack loves you.
And another super cute hopeful (yet to be named, hopefully Starling)
I met a super cute girl at my club who wanted to shoot for SG very badly, so Wednesday morning we met up to go shoot at a beautiful location. I was trying to be more careful than normal and put my camera in its bag, but it managed to slip out, down a hill, down a cliff, bounce off a bed of kelp, into a tide pool just in time for the biggest wave we'd seen all morning to crash right on top of it.
I took it home, rinsed it in distilled water, followed by alcohol then to sit in rice, but she's gone.
In the process of diving down the hill after it, I think i might have either pulled something in my neck/shoulder area, or i pinched a nerve. It's been ice and heat ever since.. :/
So now I'm in bed, doing computer work like I have been for the last few days, mourning the loss of my friend.
A few friends told me I should set up a gofundme or something like that to get people to donate to help out but I feel kind of guilty asking for donations outright, so I came up with an awesome alternative to help fund raise so I can recoup my loss and not let my weird personal issues get in the way of asking for help; a print sale!
I will be offering a choice of two prints, for a minimum of $40 each, with autographs and a very small surprise gift from me. ^_^
I will be offering both of these Images to choose from:
(shot with my camera)
and
By my friend Morgan Newton.
I'll keep you all posted with more info as I get all the kinks worked out and know exactly how I'm going to do this. But in the mean time................... River Jack.
Shot by Alissa
Named after one of the coolest creatures:
Bitis nasicornis is a venomous viper species found in the forests of West and Central Africa. A large viper, it is known for its striking color pattern and prominent horns on its nose.
Common names: rhinoceros viper, river jack
That face..
That's about all for now, here are some funny things:
There were a couple photos of me climbing on the Suicide Girls Face Book page, see below:
And I thought it was funny how many people said commented about how "That chick couldn't even climb" or "She's just posing, not actually a climber", so I thought I would post a video of myself "not being able to climb".
Thank you every one for your well wishes!
I am still feeling better and better with each passing day!
Myself and Morgan Newton, photographer extraordinaire (and my good friend), did a fun project together that turned out absolutely amazing. It started out one of those ideas we both thought was funny and could be weird or creepy, and the outcome blew the both of us away!
Here are my favorite images from the shoot:
I hope every one keeps on living to the best of their abilities. : )
Any one do anything fun for to celebrate the calendars turning? Personally, today I rang in the new year with a day of live fire training hosted by Antigone and her wonderful man, Blackcentr.
The day was cold, and lovely. I learned a ton, and I really hope I manage to retain the majority of it!
That being said, I haven't updated in a little while, so here is my quick recap:
I've been playing with the most beautiful koi fish recently.
Trying to stay active!
Picked up a few awesome tees from BlackCraft
Not to mention, like for a lot of people out there, it was Christmas season! Let me tell you, I don't pass up a holiday that lets me give presents, string up little lights around the house, and keep a conifer in the house!
Thats about where I hit a speed bump..
I started having terrible stomach pain. My entire belly area was extremely upset, tying me to the couch and rendering myself practically immobile for two weeks while I tried to first treat myself for an ulcer, then what I assumed was terrible IBS or a food allergy. I couldn't sleep, I barely ate, and I was in almost constant pain with frequent waves of debilitating cramps. My days looked about like this: (for two weeks strait)
A week and a half in my gentleman convinced me to go see a "western" doctor. (I understand what a crazy hippy I sound like, however I try extremely hard to live a life practicing health from diet, nutrition, and natural healing. So, I suppose I am a hippy.) I agreed mainly because my belly started hurting more acutely, and I have always been terrified of the potential of appendicitis. The doctor pressed on my belly, said he thought it was gallstones, and sent me home with orders to go to a more equipped doctor if it persisted.
A few days later I developed very acute pains here:
followed by here:
Finally a few days more of extreme pain and no sleep I went to the E.R.
Apparently I had been trying to "deal" with a burst appendix for over a week according to the CT scan. The good new in that was (aside from the bad news of being stuck in the hospital for Christmas) I was going to get better! And fast! The moment they began the antibiotics to calm down the toxemia I felt almost completely normal.
(and then they gave me morphine 0_o )
Needless to say, the morphine made me feel........... "comfortable"
I tried to do a little yoga in my room
I was discharged the day after Christmas. Aside from some nasty antibiotics I'm still taking, I'm almost back to 100%! Minus the loss of muscle from three weeks of being bed ridden.. That's left me rather heartbroken.. Especially when I made it back to the rock climbing gym and I was barely able to climb anything at all! :'(
It will come back fast, I know, but it is disheartening all the same.
I still enjoyed Christmas! Even a day late.
In completely other news, I am being featured this month by Whistle Magzine!
Here is a litte glimpse of what is now in print and now available:
So hurry and order your copy/subscription of Whistle!
Did I mention that the wizard behind Whistle is none other than our own Miss Pilot? All the more reason to support this growing zine, by looking at boobs.
Last piece of new news, River Jack, shot by Alissa, is coming to MR in April. : )
Finding housing with 4 animals is impossible. It's so upsetting and frustrating.
I've been searching for 2 months with padmapper.com, zillow, and craigslist with no luck at all. It seems as though no agencies, property managers, or any one else for that matter will sit down and talk with you.
Those issues aside,
Hope every one had a great Thanksgiving!
Seeing friends!
<3
I didn't get any pictures of her, but I saw Lass, briefly , as well as the lovely Missy, Brewin, and Rigel!

Getting Tattooed!
The one and only Bill Canales tattooing a Kirin he drew up for me! So great to have a master sunk perfectly into his element! He makes me want more Japanese...
We ran out of time that day, but since I planned on taking a full week off work to let this heal, we finished it the next day.
The second day hurt, a lot.
If you want to see more of Bills work or even get him to poke you with needles click here
Funny stuff
One last thing!
My friends over at Junker Designs put together a new collection of screen printed tees that are unlike anything else..
The line is called BlooDDrive. Here are a few examples of the shirts they are selling..
What makes them different than anything else, and what gives the line it's name, is that the reds in the screen print ink are the made possible by the artists of the shirts own blood. Blood was drawn from the artists and mixed into the screen print ink, for what I think, is the most epic way to own a piece from (and of) these awesome artists!
It's a super limited run, but now you know, so go check it out!! Junker Designs Go watch the behind the scenes video!
That's all for now!
Next week I plan on posting a couple prints that I am doing a limited run of, not for but I suppose for the holidays? ( that sounds a little lame.. haha) So keep your eyes open for that..
