Sometimes I wanna just fly away
and make the birds stay
show them how it feels
to aspire mobility
being limited by feet, airplanes, trains.
Sometimes I wish I could be
a part of the wind,
make the kite hold the string,
and watch me shine in
the sunlight,
watch me dance in
my ribbons of glory.

Most days I just sit
drink my caffeine
light my smoke, make a fire,
I run while standing
in place,
my gift is insanity.
Thoughts soar in the wind,
and flutter like butterflies,
eating at me thin
to make me cold.
Quench myself with water.
I bond with nature
green with envious delight,
I keep this enemy in sight.
One with the birds,
my eyes follow them
inside my wings soar,
my ribbons of hair blow in the wind,
and I feel beautiful, raw.
Dirt underneath my fingernails.
Life is beautiful with a chance of
thunder, peaking through the clouds
taunting me with lightning.
