watched 'the shining' for the first time last night and finished it this morning.
after hearing about it in reference to scary things for years and years, i was expecting something much scarier. more paranormal.
i've heard it's nothing like the book, but i guess i'll see that for myself since i've borrowed the book to read as well.
same thing happened with 'silence of the lambs' for me. just wasn't as scary as i was expecting. oh well.
has anyone seen 'dr. giggles'? i tried to rent it at blockbuster the other night, but they didn't even carry it. boo...

The one thing that scared the hell out of me watching the Shining was that scene with the people in furry costumes. Seriously! That haunted me for years. Actually Steven King produced or directed or something a Miniseries version, which was far more scary and obviously much closer to the book.

Check out TicketMaster.com, I think his only stop in Oregon is up here. It's the first week of September and the tickets are mostly $50. I don't know how long ago tickets went on sale but we found out at least a week after some friends bought theirs and still got good seats.

never listen to what people tell you about horror movies. diffrent things scare different people. I hate when I'm expecting something to scare the pants off me but it doesn't. I found What Lies Beneath to be incredibly frightening while I was watching it in the theater but it doesn't give me nightmares, while Gremlins had the opposite effect.

I kinda want to go to the mansion party just to party in a mansion but I definitely don't want to go home with someone I've just met. what did you do at the fetish parties? I've never heard of them.

REDRUM! REDRUM!

It's a bit dated, but still pretty good. The freakiest part is when the old lady comes out of the tub. wwhwhhaaa!!!

Dr. Giggles is B-Horror, as you like it. the guy who plays Giggles, played the handicapped guy in LA LAW.

If you want some paranormal activity, check out this link, before you do though, make sure your speakers are up. boooooooo!! I've been addicted to it for about a year on the hunt..

Only a few people asked about the wrist. I haven't been wearing anything on it so it's fairly hard to see. Meh. No big deal.

Haven't seen The Shining. Old horror movies just aren't my thing.

Fell asleep during Psycho. Laughed my ass off during both Poltergeist and The Exorcist.

Dr. Giggles? I've had that listed as my favorite movie for about a week now. How could you beat Larry Drake spouting one-liners as he offs people and...well, giggles!

You should go tunneling! All you have to do is come visit me and I'll take you! wink

The book The Shining is much, much, much better than the movie. I liked the book a lot, but I really don't care for the movie that much.

I saw Dr. Giggles in the theater. It was a choice between that and Candyman. I chose poorly. I wish you luck.
