not smoking sucks.
i never realized how much i smoke when i'm bored, and i never realized how much i'm bored. oooo vicious cycles. i never promised to quit cold turkey, so i'm not going to beat myself up over the cig and a half that i've smoked since the quit date.
i've managed to behave myself quite well in front of a ton of other smokers.
other than that, i've been pretty boring. went to class on tues for the first time in about 2 and a half weeks. bad thursday. bad bad.
other than that, it's been me running errands.
thursday running to the bank, thursday running to the post office, thursday harrassing her boss for hours, thursday running into old friends on the street, thursday going to class, thursday doing laundry. THURSDAY GETTING STOOD UP BY NEX CUZ HE'S A BIG DRUNK DORK.
but, thursday's not bitter. noooooooo...

hmph.

Not smoking is pretty bad, but it gets better every day Im four weeks out now, dont worry bout the ciggie and a half, put it out of your mind. I've only had a few cravings today which is such a difference.!!

You have to find something to confuse tyou when the cravings get hardcore you will need something to keep your mouth and hands occupied...I'm actually pretty sure you'll have no trouble with this.

Luck!!

Just don't let it snowball mon cheri, don't make deals about having cigs etc.

Confusion is the key, stay confussed

Actually the above is always good advice

my wife has "quit" smoking twice now...so I understand what you're going through

I can definitely relate to the addictive power of vices...this damn computer is my vice...whether it's video games or chatting or posting on stuff like this wink...I always keep coming back (and sometimes it's not good for me, well...at least not good for my marriage smile )

I think we all have something like that... I do that with eating. Sugar specifically. I broke down today and had a milkshake...now I feel like hell, but it was so damn tasty!!
It's impressive that you behaved around other smokers, I imagine that's gotta be a big will-power thing.

Ooh yeah, that's for sure! Eugene, it wasn't such a big deal turning 21...got the WOW hall, all the stuff at the UofO, who cares. Portland on the other hand...! I've only just scratched the surface myself. Maybe in ~4 months I'll have the comprehensive list of What To See. smile

You and Yumchen, now I'm craving Prince Puckler's!! Mmm, marionberry ice-cream... I'd like to do some tattoos on my temples, except for the job thing and it'd probably be rather unpleasant. Rattle the noodles. confused

A cig and a half's not bad! But Thursday getting stood up is not cool. Nope. If you're not bitter about it, I am--it's just not kosher! wink

Oh, re: my user name. No, I haven't explained it to you.

He, he. Just kidding. De Moivre was a mathematician who's theorem is used to map complex numbers onto the polar coordinate plane. I always thought the name sounded uber gothy and pretentious. biggrin

oooh you are soo much braver than I am. I've been making up mamby-pamby "quitting dates" (when i finish this class...when i finish this job...when hell freezes over, etc, heehee) and always, at the last minute, i'm back sitting in my windowsill exhaling at the trees. frown

good luck!!!! win one for the Gipper!! biggrin

You'd better keep up with the not smoking business, or I'm gonna berate you to no end!
You're no bowler, huh? Just be careful if you're ever around there parts, or we'll FORCE you to bowl!

Yeah, I think the fact that my job is at a small non-profit helps...people are more REAL than in a big company...everyone has a FACE, you know?

I've never smoked, but I've seen how difficult it can be to stop. My sister has been trying for ages (she's been chewing Nicorette for about 2 years now...is that any better??). I'm really pulling for you...hang in there. kiss

Not smoking is one of the worst things in the world. What kind do you smoke?.....marlboro reds for me.

I tend to skip class way too much too....I missed my one class for about two weeks and when I went to it the teacher made a big deal out of me actually being there and asked me where I had been. I think he expected me to say I had been sick or out of town or something, but I just looked up at him, shrugged and said, "I've been having some trouble getting out of bed." I think it kinda surprised him.
