A few pics from the most awesome (really!) SF book signing at Mission: Comics & Art last night.
Will have more/better soon, I hope, and ones that display the full Black Milk mermaid catsuit!
A cat/fish, I was with my blue hair and scales!
The yellow light just wasn't conducive to stellar photos.
Glad I was able to drop in, albeit really late. Still was able to sign stacks of books with the ladies. Line was around the store past the start of the afterparty, which was at Bender's!
Had not seen Thistle, Nixon, Ridley and a couple of the others in eons, and was stoked to meet some new (to me, anyway) rad grrls!
I'm not in the book; nonetheless, decided to sit in since I have a couple pages in the 1st one and a few people will usually show up with a copy. Plus, it's a community thing and folks don't usually care which SG's are signing. Of course, many do have their faves but most don't mind if one girl or another is not in that particular volume and is in on the Sharpie action.
Due to health issues and about a zillion Serena Toxicat projects, I hadn't attended a SG event in years and have been pretty inactive, so it was nice to reconnect.
Need to shoot another set in the next light year or so.
The doggie is Nixon's pal, Pickpocket!

So, it's my birthday. Like a certain bodily feature, we all have one!
Good mews: At some point today I'm going up on Steve Gatlin's Flashes of Beauty http://thebeautyproject.com/ as February's model! There will be b/w real film and color 3D still photos as well as an interview filmed in my temple. Steve made the film, Beauty 24, and manifested subsequent artistic projects designed to expose (yes - expose!) all types of beauty. We first shot about 6 years ago when I had long hair and fewer tattoos...and didn't live in a cat Goddess temple!
Have a bleach and tone later and need to get ready for a conference. Will also try to fit in a casting call for San Francisco Fashion Week. Celebration-wise I'm still not sure. Is 45 a big birthday?
Both of my thigh pieces are finished! Thank you, Buffy Marie and Shannon Archuleta!
And Mary Joy from Tattoo City is working on my booty!

Don't forget our dead; they fought for our lives...the out LGBT youth, the sex workers fighting for everybody's rights by standing up for their own, often in bleak conditions, the soldiers who feel conned and stuck, and perhaps someone you know and even love.
Have faith (loaded word, I know) in the impossible while nurturing your limitations so that you may open the ways to transcension.
We'll appreciate what we have and think about what others haven't due to the injustice that caused oppressive distribution - then make a change where we can, examining our privilege while nurturing our challenges so that we may grow strong.
I wish we could get out of this "spin cycle," and a wish can turn to action with enough motivation. Human drama can fall away and leave the bare essence of us to activate change and show a path that had been obscured.
Celebrate this incipient Gregorian year with appropriate introspection while extending a hand to those who are lonely, ill, or feeling unloved.
And blessed be. ♥
