oh you look so much like one of them who I thought was named Thora. I always figured it was all in good fun seeing as how they attacked themselves too. I enjoyed their humor though! Anything that makes me laugh is ok by me!

Thanks for the condolences. She was a sweet feral hamster that would chew on any fingers presented! She was two years old and they don't live long. She seemed to have died in her sleep. I'm glad she didn't seem to be in any pain. She had been running in her wheel yesterday.

damn that stupid ailment of yours!! i want you to be there! i really want to see 'wifey' play...they are in my trapeze class, and are fucking rad people!

even worse...maybe you've had sex with one of your parents (or a sibling) unbeknownst to you. i often wonder about this, seeing that i have no idea who the hell my dad is...guess, it's all good as long as i don't breed any mutated children surreal

Yeah, that's my instinct too. I have libertarian instincts about all of this. My only concern is the possibility that there could be a "race to the bottom" where women who don't want to lapdance can't make decent money and feel compelled. But teh fact that the impetus for such laws tends to come from busybody councilors and not sex workers makes me exremely skeptical.
I like your comparison with retail, too. Prostitution, to take another example, is often degrading and exploittative, but then so is working at Burger King. It's important to point out these aspects, but the law is way to crude an instrument for dealing with it; indeed, it pretty clearly makes thinsg much worse.
Anyway, I always feel that it's problematic to think about these issues without talking to people who are directly affected by them--thanks for your indulgence. And Happy Thanksgiving. smile

Muffin showed up in '94 and was the first I adopted at my current home. Totally soft and cuddly and affectionate (you know, like a muffin confused ) AND high maintenance. Will attack the others or start pissing on things if he thinks he's not getting enough attention. grrr... Otherwise, he's adorable and very loyal. He's about 10.
Josie came with the house, but I thought she belonged to the neighbors since she spent a lot of time there. Eventually I convinced her to move inside. She had 9 bad teeth pulled a couple of years ago. Now she sort of looks like an old lady without her dentures. She's around 12.
Valdez was owned by an ex's friend. We adopted her in '95 after the friend wasn't going to be able to keep her. A sweet, neurotic little girl. She cries when you pick her up to hold her and she cries if you try to put her back down. She also freaks out if the others get too close to her. She's about 9.
Terhu showed up in the yard as a kitten in mid '95 and we weren't able to find anyone who would take him without declawing him first. So he remained with us, fully clawed. Never has grown out of the gangly teenager look. He's about 8.
Casper just showed up in '98. He happened to have such a sweet personality and that cute little stubby tail that I couldn't turn him away. Loves to snuggle and give hugs and also licks and nips noses and ears. He's never meowed. He occasionally chortles and has a high pitched growl. He is about 6.
Otis belonged to the neighbor's girlfriend as a kitten in '97. I occasionally played with him if he came over to visit. She moved out and Otis stayed, but for some reason, he didn't like his home an spent most of his time in my yard. He was getting skinny, so I started feeding him. Now he's mine. The neighbor didn't mind when I asked him about it (ex-girlfriend's cat and all). He's the only one who is outdoors all of the time. He's usually talkative and always friendly. He's about 6 as well.

More pics as well as pics of the strays I had this year are in my pics if you want to see them. Damn... this comment looks sort of long. You're probably going to regret asking about them.
