It's a habit to remember to take pictures while you're having fun. The folks who do it consistently make the pictures part of the fun rather than a distraction. For me, it's still a distraction.

Sometimes I think that writer-thinking and photographer-thinking are at cross purposes. For me, at least, my way of thinking about narratives is all clausal structure and relationship diagrams; it doesn't lend itself to visual material at all. I'm not even good at looking at visual composition; I'm better at "does this photo feature a pretty girl (y/n)"

I appreciate there are people who can do both, and that there are even people who do one thing that applies to both circumstances, but I am not one of those people.

Also, none of your cool-photo friends wrote Kites.
