I just deleted a bunch of people. I'm crabby. I tried on like 30 pairs of black pants today and hated all of them. They were all either horribly ill-fitting, or really ugly. I cannot wear cheap polyester pegged slacks, designers! Please take heed!

I did get a new bra and some workout pants. Fat pants, you might call them.

Good news: I finished the first draft of my short novel. It's... really short. Like 86 pages in my word processor. I think it's possible that part of the edit process will actually be fleshing it out. It feels SO GOOD to have finished the draft, though. I haven't completed a draft of a novel since I was like 17.

So, anyone know any literary agents?

I attended Clarion SF '85. A bunch of my classmates have gone on to be moderately famous writers and editors. One guy worked at CTW in NY for a long time. I don't know the people you're looking for but they sure do.

I keep my friends list populated with cool people but fortunately/unfortunately most of them have gone on to real lives. Also I usually don't bother making requests to or accepting them from people who have over 100 "friends." (But there are a few exceptions.)

I miss Xip. And some others.

Congrats on getting the first draft done. I don't write, but I imagine that geeting the first step done must be a relief and make the end result feel much more obtainable.

i hate shopping for pants. i have a hard time finding a cut/fit because i'm so tall and also pear shaped with mah hips. i went looking for pants a few months back and came home close to tears. all the cuts were the wide flare leg, so i looked like a damn elephant from the waist down.

awesome job on the writing! i, however, have no knowledge of lit agents... sorries!!
