I went to visit my friend in Boston in June. Things we did:

Boston Pops - Music and culture
Plus, an Ethiopian restaurant nearby that is really good
There's also the Church of Christian Science near that which has a lovely pool you can walk around and fabulous stained glass / old church... not OMG must do but if you finish before you want to go into the Pops and it's not that chilly

There is the River Charles - 'Down by the river... down by the banks of the river Charles... that's where you'll find me...'
Near there are a lot of parks, on either side... I'd say the Cambridge side is more picturesque
There's a lot of good eating, including Craigie on Main and Hungry Mother
We went to the MIT Museum in Cambridge
There's also MIT and Harvard and the back bay - lots of churches and a park and some swank shopping district stuff

Not the best guide, I know, but Boston is really Boston and Cambridge if you are okay with a little walking or using public transit

Boston in Nov? You can visit Fenway but likely can't go inside... baseball season will be over by then.

Never been to Boston or any state past Pennsylvania, but I would love too. Once you get everything planned, let me know what you decide to see. I hope you have fun!

Boston is an amazing city! Last time I was there, which admittedly is a long long long time ago, I loved Harvard Square at Harvard University......mostly because the House of Blues was there....great place for music! and the whole Quincy Market area for shopping and sightseeing plus some great pubs.

There's a TON of history here. Quite a few sites related to the Revolutionary War, the USS Constitution, and such.

Haven't been to Boston so can't comment but WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for holiday!

Just chillin' out in Boston Common was my favourite thing to do to be honest

"Fanueuil Hall Marketplace in the city is a huge deal and pretty cool. Even if it is winter also highly recommend going out to Cape Cod for at least a day trip or maybe even out to one of the islands. Hanging around Boston Commons and the Charles River is another big one. Depends where in Boston - I love going out to Woodmans for a Boston style seafood fry up, but plenty of places do it around the harbour. Boston walking tour, lots of history, some take you to the Cheers bar. take in a basketball game at the Garden.. . . getting homesick talking about it!! "
