I work for an Insurance company and as I'm sure you're all well aware of by now, the state of Queensland got fucked over after Cyclone Tasha crossed the coast on Christmas Day.

Floods, floods, flash-floods, and more floods.

The flooding in Brisbane last month was set to break new records and surpass the 1974 flood (which was the aftermath of Cyclone Wanda). Thankfully, the river didn't peak as high this time, but there are a lot more people living in our beautiful city today, then there was back in 1974.

People are just finding their feet, and attempting to make sense of this all and Cyclone Anthony says hello to Queensland, and in the next day or two we're set to experience the destruction that is Cyclone Yasi.

It's not that our State isn't used to Cyclones, hail storms, or torrential rain - it's just a lot of devastation to take on in one storm season!

The media are comparing Cyclone Yasi with the likes of Cyclone Tracy and Cyclone Larry - both absolutely decimating the towns they struck. Go to Google and do an image search on those two Cyclones.

Quite the comparison.

Now I've been off work almost a week, and I'm finally starting to feel a little better. The nasty cough I have seems to want to stick around, but I've gotta get back to work.. and honestly, it's not looking like a lot of fun!

Seems virtually everywhere is getting hit with unusual, relentless storms of some sort. So far since Christmas we've been hit with not one but four major snow storms, all compounding on top of each other since the weather hasn't risen above freezing in over a month. I mean, I thought the world wasn't supposed to end until next year...WHAT GIVES?!

You're heading to Vegas? I'm of over that way in Sept. for my cousin's Buck's Party. Heeeaaappsss looking forward to it.

I felt in no way bad about crashing the Anti-Valentines party. It wasn't any genuine rebellion against Valentines, it was more like they were going to wallow in pity and watch "Love, Actually". So I decided it was a bit rude of them to do that when there are _plenty_ of good guys out there (If you even try to argue to the contrary, i'l stomp on ya). I bought a rose for each of them and a nice Sarah Lee chocolate cheese cake and hopefully made them feel a bit better/guiltier.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I ended up watching Love, Actually. Such a stupid movie... bok

Holy FUCK it's a category 5 cyclone now! My grandparents live just north of Townsville (have done so for the past 70 years) so I hope they're bugging out! Might give my mum a call
