and.... GO!

Not only did I get my driver's license today:

(yes, I had to be 30 before I got it (better late than never) and yes, I realize I look like a complete dork. I was aiming at "respectable".)

... but also this super awesome project I am modestly speaking of is going into the final phase!

By the way, I passed both the written and the driving test very well. Which I'm proud of because I worked hard at it. I didn't really have a second chance with it, not only due to finances but also because tomorrow, Eric and I are debarking on a new kind of journey and our only little vacation: A road trip down to switzerland to see Eric work on the steam train in our brand new (old) Scirocco from 1984:

(I'm certain better pictures will be shot when we set off tomorrow. )

All in all: So busy, so happy, tons of things to do and happening, as usual! New pictures I shot will follow after our couple days off. Now go and support!

I like your "dork" look, very serious & very very as you put it, "respectable". What made you get a license at this point?

I never knew this part of you, the part that teaches or influences a positive body image. I didn't think this was a subject for you. I guess this shows you I don't pay attention very much. That being said, I love it. As a big fella it is hard to want to appreciate himself. Especially when he is found not to be what is widely accepted or even appreciated. It's easy for small words that no one notices can be hurtful. Yet it's every day talk for some.

Anyway, I love it!

This is true, it does. I guess what hurts is that not all the people I come to know or admire don't feel the same way as you or this site promotes.
But I can't put that on the site. It does what it can about that subject.

yeah, alles gute für den führerschein!
ich hab ihn vor 7 jahren gemacht und bin dann nie gefahrn weils mir einfach zu stressig is ^^

Wow, I haven't seen an '84 Scirocco in forever. That one looks to be in nice shape, most of the ones over here rusted away long ago.

Horace looks confident in your driving skills, and you look confident, too, not dorky.

I had an '84 Scirocco once. It was a great car, even when it got old and tatty. I drove it until one of the front wheels fell off at 236,000 miles.
