Just wanted to say a huge big thank you to everyone who checked out my set and especially those who left such awesome comments! It always makes me feel very special when people write such heart felt and lovely things

On a funny note, I managed to catch it again
haha. Is that what happens when you play with magic?

I posted a few more vids on my page. One is another promo thingy we did for Seasons Wither last year for Circus Gothica and the other 2 are music vids I was in, that I think turned out really cool. Check em out if you want to see how I look when I'm moving lol.
And for now I will leave you with this, because it made me laugh .... lots.

Power to the pink killer bunnies!

I love you all

Well done to the people who knew where the art in my latest set came from
My kindred spirits are Cherry, christopherdash, Fleische and lola_lotus.
To those of you who didn't and who like to know, this is the story
The artwork is actually the concept art from the old movie The Dark Crystal.

It was done by Brian Froud who is synonymous with fairy art. I've always loved his Celtic style and I have most of his books. I stumbled across The Dark Crystal concept art a few years ago when I worked in a book shop and fell in love with it all over again.
All the artwork in the set are his illustrations of the star systems from the film and the great conjunction which involves 3 suns in eclipse. I thought this would be perfect for my set because it portrays the suns coming together to be one. Plus its just so pretty to look at

On a side note, this is Fizzgig, my favourite character from the movie lol. Anyone who has seen it will remember him

This particular plushie is the wonderful work of Love & a Sandwich, very cute stuff
She even does custom designs
Ooh I have an exciting few months ahead.
I'm off to Limpopo for a shoot weekend with talamia and the rest of the South African SGs. I'm really looking forward to it. I don't really do the girls only thing but I really like these girls
I have tickets to see John Cleese live in October and tickets to Jimmy Carr in December!!
Bring it on! We've slowly been getting all the great comedians coming to visit us here in Africa.
This makes me very very happy. I'm a huge fan of comedy.
I've managed to see Eddie Izzard, Henry Rollins and Jim Jefferies so far. Now I'm waiting for Dylan Moran, Tim Minchin and Ricky Gervais. I live in hope

My latest set is very special to me. It’s something that I have been wanting to do for a long time. It’s all about magically sending a message to someone I love. I’ve always thought that the concept of earth magic was a beautiful one. The idea that if you want something good then the earth will help you. What could be more pure and wonderful then love.
The art work I used in this particular set holds a lot of meaning for me. It’s from something that I have loved since I was a child, and something that I will love when I am old and grey. It is from something that has always been mystical and beautiful and it was my very first taste of fantasy and magic. If you have any idea what I am talking about, then you can pm me and let me know where you think it comes from. If you are correct, I will send you some extra pictures that were not included in the final set. You will not find these pictures anywhere on the internet, they will only be sent to those who know the answer, to my kindred spirits
There is a clue in the set ...
The Message

This set is the beginning. It’s only part 1.
I hope I have managed to intrigue you, for there is yet more to come.

So you may or may not be surprised that one of my musical loves is old school blues.
I went to watch this man play last night....
If you live in South Africa or New Orleans you may have heard of him. His name is Dan Patlansky, and he is a prodigy!
I've never seen someone this young who is this good. I guess that fact that he has been practicing 8 hours every day since he was a teenager help
I reckon the only reason he isn't world famous is cause he loves blues so much that he won't sell out and do commercial stuff.
Oh yes and another interesting thing about him is I went to college with him
Used to watch him play when he was 18 and even then he was fucking amazing. I didn't think it was possible for him to get better but I was very much proved wrong when I saw him recently.
Seriously peeps, if he ever happens to be in your neighbourhood, GO AND SEE HIM! Its really something you shouldn't miss. He has some of the fastest fingers ever, and of course as any great blues muso should, he pulls the best faces while playing
He is mind blowing!
If you wanna see when and where he is gigging you can check him out here
Oh yes and he is playing at Oppikoppi this year, along with Chevelle. This really makes me want to go....
Random pics from last night, I was on the balcony.
Of course all the usual suspects were there, I'm sure you can spot them by now lol.
But we decided to introduce my 14 year old niece and her best friend to some real music, as is necessary at such a young and impressionable age hehe. They got all gushy and when we got them drumsticks from the show I think we made their year haha.

In other news I want one of these

My very own companion cube lol. Needs to get me one.
And one of these...

Who knew they made Labyrinth worm plushies
He was my favourite character in that movie
More news soon

Quick blog update.
Went to the Drakensburg for the weekend to see the parentals with the usual suspects, namely Talamia, Xaosnyte and PunkSkunk.
PunkSkunk has an epic blog and lots of very silly pics here
Circus Gothica had a wonderful article written about us, with lots of nice pics in Joburg Live.
So Burlesque
And finally I got an Iphone 4. About time, I know. I dislike change so its only taken me this long to give in and get one. Now I can be all artsy and do the Lomo thing too

A few months ago we did an Otaku shoot with Talamia for a certain member named DarkStreet.
Here are some of my pics from the shoot
If you like anime girls then you will like this!
10 points if you can tell me what anime this particular black cat comes from

And then I was forced to watch this because apparently this is what Swedish people think of Africa lol.
Despite being wildly inaccurate, it is cute and very catchy....
Sadly my work colleagues don't seem to appreciate it much

Here is an update on things I love and can't live without
We will start with all the crap on my dressing table lol...

My funky new laptop speaker (Mines the vamp, the Werewolf is for Xaosnyte, he's mad about Werewolves
)

Lego... because this is way more epic than what I had when I was little!

Booooots! I'm a huge fan of boots, can't have enough pairs...

Its winter here at the mo so the following 2 things are my lifesavers
My amaze-balls gloves ...

and my pink dragon slippers. I'd wear these out if I could, honestly. They are that awesome!

My favourite bag at the moment...

Super cute new PJs, they have cupcakes on them, need I say more?

A shrew!! This is a bit of an odd one but I found this litte guy in my room, and I'm thrilled because he is alive! I have 3 cats who like to bring me presents and I love it when the presents are still alive and I can save the poor things. My cats are pretty brutal so sadly this is not the norm
This little guy was a real cutie though. Punkskunk wanted to keep him as a pet lol.

And of course I have to get a little mushy in this blog, the people I love and can't live without

Oh and I caught this just in time, It made me laugh

Does this make me a bad person
Till next time, stay well SG land

I was lucky enough to go away to Cape Town this weekend with Lunar and Talamia to stay at this amazing place called The White House. It was absolutely stunning!

I highly recommend it if anyone is planning a trip down there.
Needless to say we had loads of fun.
With no one around to bother us, it felt like the most peaceful place in the world! We did get Lunar hooked on Plants vs Zombies ... luckily for us there was no Zombie apocalypse on Saturday or we would have been screwed lol. The whole place is made of wood and glass.
Although with the lack of people in the town it almost felt like the rapture had come...haha.
We managed to check out Vaudeville one night, and although they don't have their proper full show running at the moment they had some very impressive acts on during dinner. I'm always amazed at how easy people can make these things look. There were quite a few aerial acts, from girls in hoops to gymnastic guys on ropes. I can't wait to go back and see a full show.
And now for some pics of the trip.
Talamia has much better ones of course but this is what I got on my phone

Oh and we decided to take Xaosnyte along too just in case there was a Zombie Apocalypse because he is really good with a sword

This was the creepiest house in the town...
You will have to see this pic at full size to fully appreciate all the incredibly odd decorations this place has in its garden.... It appears they have liking for mannequins and clothing, oh and lets not forget the cross in the background...

On our way back on the last day we stopped at this cute little place for lunch.
Turns out they have a whole menagerie of animals there including Lions and Tigers! Who knew.
So of course we had to check it out...

Apparently bunnies like Lunar hehe (although who doesnt
)

A bad pic of the female White Lion...
They had a pair of white lions and pair of brown ones

And saving the best for last, they had two 8 month old golden tiger cubs. Lunar and I spent the entire time gushing over how cute they were. They were even purring!! They may appear big for 8 months but they get a whole lot bigger!! Also I've never actually seen golden tigers before. I think they may be the most beautiful of all. You get the usual orange with black stripes and White with black stripes, then you get these ones. White with golden brown stripes. How anyone can kill something this beautiful I will never ever understand!
Some random interesting info, the guy who runs the place let his 5 year old son go right up to the fence and stroke and play with them. We were all quite shocked, but he informed us that while you could never ever do that with lions, tigers are actually quite social and love the physical attention. He says they although both the lions and tigers were hand reared, the lions only see us as a herd and therefore prey, while the tigers do not.
Of course this is not true when they are in the wild and have had no contact with humans

Anyways after a very successful weekend in Cape Town, we arrived back in Joburg exhausted but happy.
I did not make it to work this morning however as I now have the flu
Completely my own fault I suppose, as I was running around naked at dawn on the beach in the middle of winter
