And back to New York it is! I'm still on an epic road trip though, having trekked through the Canadian Rockies and paddled through the Minnesota Boundary Waters. Canada was refreshing; not only do they have their health care down, but they have progressive sales tax rebates; if you don't earn much, you get a check each month giving back for the sales tax you spent. If you're rich, you get taxed on goods. And we spend our time laughing at Them?
Minnesota is also beautiful. Watery and loon-filled, with Walleye jumping onto your lures. Anyone know any Minneapolis must-dos before we keep on our way east?zoom image

Does that mean you are single? If so I hope you are doing OK. Yea, we make fun of Canada yet they take care of their people, you would really think it should be the other way around. I lived in Europe for a long time and met many people who were very happy with the care they were getting, even end of life and beginning of life stuff. Like several years of maternity leave for working mothers. Americans scoff at stuff like that but new mothers and their children seemed to be OK with it smile

Well, if your wonders lead you to AZ let me know, I can take you to several awesome mountain springs and some spectacular views. Also, if you know of any place to take me in NY let me know, I can be there soon LOL love

Yeah we have it good in canada, The states laugh because of the stereotypes really ... and we laugh at a canadian stereotype too. ahah.

We used to jump of the rocks into the Temperance River just north of Duluth, where it flows into Lake Superior. 30-40 ft jumps into some really cold water then lie on the hot basalt rocks. Nice abs by the way.

I spent weeks one summer canoeing the Boundary Waters, but I must have done it all wrong, because I never saw a six-pack like that. Holy cow, sister.

I truly wish I could join you. I haven't been on a vacation in almost 8 years! Wish I had some sweet stuff to fill you in on but that's not my neck of the woods.

...and it's hard to laugh at efficiency when our president can't even get through a speech without being heckled.

Health Care Down Pat? Why do they come here then? If it is so great with free money, perhaps you should move there

Walleye! Lucky fisherlady. When I used to go up into the St Georges bay - all we could hope for is Pike. Which in a sense is like going to the supermarket waiting for a guy to come in that's going rob the place, and you attempt to snare him. Not a fun loving happy fish to catch, like a walleye.

enough fish,

have a safe trip back to home base. We'll have lots of cool temperatures when you return! Autumn is here!

In response to lawber, how many Canadians come to the US for health care? Not many, if any. People immigrate for many reasons, from jobs to family, and it doesn't mean that they prefer our government.
Nor did I say they gave away "free money." They just don't tax you as much as we do if you're poor.
As for moving there, I'm hoping we get a public option here so I can finally afford health care without having to leave my native land.

She is so smart and lawber just can't read, I think. I understood your explanation of the sales tax and also agree with you. Good Old America would be so much better if everyone could get medical care. To tell you the truth, if it comes down to it, I'll send my portion of the "medical tax" straight to you smile Anyway, Canada is toooo damn cold.

Yeah, that book was hard to put down.
But, the only book I cannot read without finishing in one sitting is the Bell Jar.
I have an unhealthy obsession with Plath. blush

I'm moving to Cypress Hills, Brooklyn biggrin
