1. I shot a new set 2 days ago. So I guess we shall see.

2. Since I am not moving, I completely overhauled my room. Looks good, more space. Took a whole bunch of shit to the dump.

3. Starting this morning, I am officially fasting. I'm going to try for 4 days. If I can get to next friday I would be stoked, but I'm going to hope for Tuesday. I'm doing miso and juicing, some fruit, and shit tons of water, as well as an herbal cleansing formula.

4. I just started a new production company with my business partner Hottie McNaughty. We call it "Blood Rhinestone Productions". If you run across us on myspace, hit us up! We are applying for a grant from an organization in Washington, and we have a really good chance of getting it, as they approached me after a show with "we have money we want to give away!" HOLLA! I'm so excited for my art to expand. Hottie and I have produced together before, so I think we are a good match.

5. I'm going to spend the weekend reading and chilling.

Sydni Land Updates:

1. I think I'm shooting this week. Maybe you'll have a set in front of your lusty eyes by next month.....

2.Tomorrow I debut my Obama/America tribute act. If you're in Seattle, come to Neighbors, enjoy the drag queens and top it off with a stripping sparkly cherry-me!

3.Artists in Seattle should mark their calendars for Nov 17th, I'll be posing for Dr. Sketchy's @ the Rendezvous in the Jewel Box Theatre. Come draw me, sculpt me, take pictures of me!

4.I reorganized and did a major overhaul of my rooms. That's right kids. Despite my raise, I'm staying in my current location. The amazing apt. rented out before I could even get a call back from the owner. I'm taking it as a sign to buckle down till next spring, and then maybe move up to the hill.

5. I'm seriously considering getting a dog. Under 45lbs. Loveable and chill.

6.I'm enjoying working 40 hours a week. And I'm proving myself indispensable. Heh.

That's all for now. My life is pretty smooth. Want more time with the Greek. Busy busy bees are we.

Advice needed on my "wanting to move"

So there's this place. It's an amazing apartment that is just above the space I work in. This place is amazing. Vaulted ceilings, walk in closets, great kitchen, everything I'm looking for right now. I'd get to live with my friend Logan, who is also amazing. We're like brother and sister, except I don't want to punch him in the face. It's 1400 sq feet and 1200 for rent. So that's 600 for me not counting utilities.

I can walk to a lake, I'm next to a park, down the street from a grocery store, and closer to everything in general. Right now, everywhere I go is at least a 15-20minute drive. This would cut it into 5.

I could walk upstairs for lunch, thus saving money on food, and gas. No commute!

The rub: I need 2500 to move in. Seattle is insane, I say. 1700 for deposit and the other 800 to be current with my place I'm at, and be good to move out.

For the first few months, I'd have to work my ass off, but it would be worth it. I just don't know where I'm going to get the money for this initial payoff, besides asking an affluent uncle for a loan. The first 4 months I would at times have as little as 200 to cover food and gas (I wouldn't need much gas). I'm okay with cooking.

Do you think it's possible?

For the first few months I'd be training to become a colon hydrotherapist, thus bumping up my income significantly after I'm certified.

Right now I live in the basement of a house in around 500 sq feet.

In other life news, I just got done with Tease-O-Rama. I was declared Queen of the Amazons by no other than Satan's Angel, the legend and queen of the fire tassel. I look up to her. She's been performing for 50 some years. I really wish I were joining the road show for the finale in San Francisco. Oh well. Gotta work some time!

Niko and I are doing OK....just OK. Fucking rough patches. He works too much, really. We'll be fine though, we're just weathering the withering work loads of both of us.

This weekend we hang out, forgetting society exists. I'm pretty excited for that. Just cook, eat, sleep, watch movies and make love. We both miss those weekends. It's been months.

So, if you were me, would you take out the loan and move? Or buckle down until I'm trained and caught up?

Here's me backstage chillin' with Ben DeLaCreme, drag queen extraordinaire:

Some discourse on BURLESQUE (plus a tiny bit of self promotion wink)

Some of you may know that for the past 4 years I have been fortunate to be a performer in this great city of Seattle, and have had the pleasure of traveling the West Coast shakin' my metronome-like ass as well. Recently I have begun to expand as a performer and I have added the role of producer to my list.

I know it's shameless, but I put on a really great show. My performers are always the best Seattle and surrounding areas have to offer, and my venues have a great stage and strong drinks.

So I invite you to come to my recent endeavor, GROTESQUERIE: a Pretty Pasties Pastiche production, this Sept 14th with a show time of 9pm with doors at 8pm. It only costs $12, and when you will come, you will realize that really, we could charge more, but we like entertaining more than money, (and that's saying a lot kids!)

Burlesque has been a HUGE part of my life now, and it's provided me with an avenue to grow as a human, a woman, and a creative entity. I began performing at the age of 7 as a classical flutist, moved to singing Jazz at the age of 15, and took the stage as a peeler at age 21 after walking into a show and felt my inner drag queen scream "bitch! This is what we've been looking for since we were 4!"

zoom image

As a burlesque artist and producer, my only aim is to perform with those that I adore and respect as people and performers. Sometimes, this makes the group I tend to book small, as I want my backstage to be as laid back and easy as a hussy after drinking a bottle of champagne. There are highly entertaining performers out there, I know, but a fun backstage demeanor is just as valuable to some of us in the business. I produce shows to bring these fantastic individuals together, and to remind Seattle that burlesque hosts some very creative and exciting performers, not simply the girl (or boy) that just wants to be pretty on stage.

zoom image

As a performer, my aim is to entertain, and also to make you think. I care about discourse on gender, self-confidence in all people, and about sexuality. So the performers that I look up to also do this as well, and I can't help but be so proud that there are others out there like me.

When done correctly-burlesque is incredibly entertaining, intoxicating, sensual, sexual, sparkly (most of the time), inspiring and exciting. Women and men need to remember that their bodies have multiple amazing and exciting functions, and they aren't simply to just eat, defecate, work and fornicate (though two of those activities are my favorite!)

zoom image

As performers we get to express the crazy and wacky world that we experience in our heads-with our bodies in the modes of movement, costumes and expression. Because we are shamelessly exhibitionistic, we want you to witness our weirdness.

Personally, I am inspired by the drag queens and kings that I have had the pleasure of meeting over the years (one lived in my basement as a child!), the golden era of MGM musicals, Vegas showgirls, Makeup artistry, the beautiful sparkly ladies that took it off before I was even a thought, Jazz and Rock n Roll.

Token Gateau is a bad motherfucker.

And now since you've seen me dress as a boy, here's a Sydni ass chaser:

last night I went dancing at a casino to celebrate my Auntie getting married. For those that know me, they know just how fucking hilarious that is.
