Already September and back from Hell City and haven't even posted a blog about the July New York roadtrip that Alissa, Luscious and I took in back in July!
You'll have to hang in there a little bit more before I can get you an SG Luau, home shoots and Hell City update...but without further ado....
New York road trip July 2011.
started out with a week in NY with my family! It's been 7 years since I moved away and I MISS them so much!!!
I'm trying to plan more trips home!! And my sis, Yankee_ will be in Ohio visiting me this month!!
I love going back to NY, but it really does feel like another country compared to Ohio!

Derek jeeter hit his 3000th homerun while we were in NY. It was pretty awesome to be at home...... in NY..... watching the game........ with my family....... AND it was on my sister....Yankee's birthday!!

After spending a week with my family, Killer47 drove Yankee and I to the ferry to meet up with Alissa and Luscious in NJ and we all took the Sea Streak Ferry to NY.

This was the first time that I set up the locations and hotels for a roadtrip...
It went pretty great!
We met a ton of great new friends and awesome people in both NY and NJ and we are so excited for our next visit
One of the people that I got to meet in setting up our travels up was the amazingly talented, Jessica Lichtenstein
Her work is right up our alley!
And we are planning some future collaborations with Jessica for the future both on SG and off.

We arranged a trip to NY at the same time as the beautiful Waikii! She and I became SGs at the same time back in 2006, and we have been online friends ever since. It was so amazing to get to meet her in person! She was even more badass in person than she is online.

I can't believe her set goes into member review on September 20th! SO exciting!!!! eeeep!!!
Then we got to shoot Lousiana and Auriga on our last day in Jess' apartment. And she came home and worked in her studio so we could all hang out a bit.. It was a fun day!

So that was our first NY location. We barely scratched the surface of the locations we plan on shooting in this place and we are so so so excited to go back!!!
But in order to keep our locations fresh for shoots (and also because our awesome hosts needed to come home from the beach ) we moved on to our next place....an amazing new dream of a hotel in Chelsea, NY.
I spent a lot of time on the phone, internet and using iphone apps to set up our locations and trip details...and I was super stressed before the trip worrying if everything would go right.... BUT everyone was just as happy with the second location as the first! Here we are just getting settled into the new place. My hard work was worth it.

Some days we didn't eat anything until like 9:00 at night and we were dead tired...but it was such a great experience and such a blast.

The next morning....we were supposed to shoot 2 more sets before heading to NJ....
First was Avian_ from Austria!!! Yep, Austria.
I met an adorable girl online.....Avian!! She wanted to shoot with us. The only problem was that she lives in Austria and we live in Ohio........
sooooooo we planned our trips to NY at the same time!!! It was a blast to get to meet her in NY and she is such a sweetheart!

We had planned on staying in NY one more night and shooting Fabrizia and some pictures of Jess, but some crazy mishaps kept us from doing that so we adjusted our plans and no choice but to book it out of NY one night early and head for NJ where we were supposed to shoot the next morning.
The 3 of us barely had a voice and had to make some last minute changes in our plans so we decided to blow off some steam and have some fun and we headed to Point Pleasant NJ!

In the morning, we had one final shoot before we headed out of town with Bill_, the hottie we met on the Sea Streak!! Bill_ is the ferry's only female crew member and she arranged for us to have our own private ferry for the shoot!!

I just got home from an amazing trip to New York with Alissa and Luscious shooting TONS of beautiful girls for SG, and Powder Puff Pinups. And I'd love to update you guys on that....I'm actually dying to tell you about NY, and even started working on that blog........BUT FIRST, I need to update you on the 6 weeks IN BETWEEN Chicago and New York. Because they were freaking rad as well!!
Well, I'll stop rambling and get started!

We shot a set at our friend, Ben Riffe's farm (he tattoos at Stained Skin in Columbus.......you should check him out ).
His farm is unreal!!!! His dad built it by hand!

I coordinated from here so it sucked to miss shoots for girls that I talked to for so long....but the pictures that Alissa posted were great, and the sets look amazing,
and although I did have to miss Miami..... and that was sad.....I didn't miss COMFEST!!!
Columbus has the largest and also longest running (I believe) community run festival in the country.... And it's one of my absolute favorite things to do in Columbus.
I got to spend time with Killer47 and our puppies and listen to live music on a blanket under the stars, eat elephant ears, run around in the sunshine, drink jeni's rootbeer floats and eat bahama mama sausage hotdogs, smoke, drink, cuddle, and just chill out and do what we love to do...
it was Gunny's first comfest. And he didn't bite anyone.

I'm still hanging on to my awesome Monday nights at the bar that I love working and a few select weekend nights......But I'm doing the SG and Powder Puff Pinups thing the rest of the time!! It's hard work, I'm not gonna lie, I lose sleep at night because there are 10 or 20 girls on my mind wondering about sets or trying to book a shoot or sets that I need to find a location for. It's hard work, but so much fun and I feel so free! I can honestly say that this is the hardest I've ever worked but also the most fun I've ever had! Annndd I've only just started to get where I'm going

A few weeks ago, Alissa, Pilot and I hit the road for a 5 day midwest loop and shoot fest. We visited Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois and shot 9 sets and met some amazing ladies!!! One of the best times I've had on SG....I see many future roadtrips for the 3 of us and some of the other ladies around here!!!!!

What do you do when a bunch of tubes are shipped to you but they are not up to your super high standards??!! Well, when you're Durb, Before you recycle them all, you turn a pain in ass into a way to see some ass. lolol......Ok, Ok, I admit, it was really Alissa's idea...

We met her over a year ago while in Dallas on our cross country roadtrip. I saw her in the elevator and I knew she'd be perfect for SG.
I asked her if she ever heard of SG? , to which she replied, "I've got a membership"
I said, "well would you ever do it? b/c I'm here with Alissa Brunelli, one of the staff photographers"
And she goes..."hmmmm let me think about that for a second.....umm..OK!!!!! DUH"
Then I asked her if her boobs were real.
True Story.
She said, yes....and they're the good kind of real!
And now a year later, we're great friends and I got to see her Gs all weekend long.
And even better....Tovi just joined the list of SGs who are considering a move to the great state of OHIO to add to our growing community of tattooed ladies!

As I watch cameras go up on every street corner in my town and hear about people's houses being searched without reason or warrant, or about something like seat belt check down in Tennessee that had US military there for back up.... or when you realize that 5000 of our soldiers have been killed trying to punish someone for killing 3000 citizens on 9/11....or that the leaders that our parents and grandparents elected were corrupt and have sentenced us to live of enslaved debt unless we make some DRASTIC changes..... I am increasingly interested in who will run our country next and what they have to say about this bullshit.
I'm definitely interested in hearing what Ron Paul has to say.

I'm not officially endorsing anyone just yet....I've still got some reading to do and some of his more conservative views have me concerned, but I'm loving what I have heard on A LOT of issues.
Namely, the Federal Reserve, his foreign policy, the size of the central government, national security, the loss of our rights, The Constitution, Marijuana Laws, a medical approach to the drug problem as opposed to a criminal approach!!!! And he even opposes the ridiculous No Child Left Behind education law!
Ok Mr. Paul....so you may be a republican.....but I am definitely listening!!!!!
I've been reading a lot more and will likely start to do some political writing as the election gets closer... I have found that the older I have gotten, I have virtually no interest, and literally don't even know who most of these people or shows are. These are things I hear talked about constantly.
Justin Beeber, The Cardashians, Jake and Kate and 8, Glee, Paris Hilton, jersey shore, etc. I find them such a suck on my time and such a distraction from what really goes on this world that I can't even put it into words how stupid I think that stuff is.
So, SGers.......my first question is:
Do you know what the Federal Reserve is....or how it functions?
Did you know that NONE of the money paid to the IRS for federal income taxes goes to any social programs whatsoever? NONE!! That it all goes to paying interest to the Federal Reserve?
If not, it's a lot more interesting than somebody's special sweet 16!!! or some chick popping out babies at 12.

A few weeks ago, Alissa, Pilot and I hit the road for a 5 day midwest loop and shoot fest. We visited Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois and shot 9 sets and met some amazing ladies!!! One of the best times I've had on SG....I see many future roadtrips for the 3 of us and some of the other ladies around here!!!!!

Happy 4:20! :
Hope everyone who celebrates had a great day. I called it quits early from work and baked up some burgendy chicken, and baked mac and cheese, chocolate chip cookies and cheesecake! All flavored with this beautiful green butter than a friend of mine gave to me. Then I had some great friends over for a delicious meal and some wine.

I guess it's all of the "winning" jokes that have followed at my bar.
if you live on the east side, you should really stop in on monday nights and shoot pool in the pool tourney. I'ts only $5 to enter...winner takes all, there's free food, a dj (that plays a pretty good mxi), and pretty cool people hang out there. It's a pretty fun monday night.

Hi all,
Just wanted to quickly stop in and say hi to everyone. I continue to be terrible at blogging on a regular basis....BUT after years of moving every couple of months... I am starting to get organized and settled again, so hopefully I will be back to my active blogging self very soon!
I did want to take the time to congratulate 2 of my "in real life" friends who decided to give the SG thing a shot and both recently went pink and became Suicide Girls on their first try!!!! And they are both Columbus girls.....so I'm so so so happy to have both of them as part of the Ohio SG family....errr, army

but for now I'm just going to hit you with some VERY RAMDOM, in no particular order, phone snaps that I've taken lately....
First of all, I went back to blond!!! And it was my birthday. I turned the big 3-7. and I celebrated my sweet 16 plus my 21st all in one
My friends and family know me well, I got a lot of flowers and cakes with flowers and pinup themed cards and gifts. It was one of my best birthdays to date. And getting older still doesn't bother me one bit...so that was pretty awesome.
And the SG slumber party shoot was on birthday weekend, so I got to see tons of my girl friends that night, and 2 of my closest SG friends from afar were in town, my long lost love Annisa came to town to shoot a comeback set and meet all of the new girls, and [Luscious] stayed in town all weekend and spent my birthday with me on Monday at the bar I work at...so that made for an even more amazing bday weekend!!!!
Alissa and I got bottles of wine one night and got drunkies.... it was fun
One of my best friends has always wanted to be in Inked Magazine...and her boyfriend submitted some of the shots that I did of her for him for Valentine's Day, and she got picked as Inked Girl of the Day for the website.
When I'm not hanging out with my girls....this boy, Killer47

First, the pictures that I took from the SG get together at Skully's in Columbus. A bunch of ladies were in town so we decided to have a get together! Big plans are in the works for an Ohio SG party for this spring! promise more details, including the date will be coming along soon.

First off, I wanted to take a minute to pimp out a set of a gorgeous, sweet girl that Alissa shot while we were in Phoenix. We shoot so many amazing hopefuls, but rarely can I say that the girl has been such a long time hopeful!!

ok, sooooo much has changed since my last blog.
i won't go too much in to detail, but we lost our boxer, Killer a couple of weeks ago really unexpectedly!
It was the saddest thing I have ever had to deal with....and he was only my dog for the past year since Killer47 and I started dating. but Killer47 raised him since a pup (he was 8)!

Gunny was my only dog for his whole life until last year when I moved in with
I'm so thankful that we had at least one full year and a Christmas with our old dogs!
He was an amazing loyal dog and I miss his so much!!
buttttt, it's not an ALL sad story,,,, Anyone who knows me knows that I don't spend much time in sadness or negativity. If something makes me sad I change it.
so after a week of crying, we started to think about a new puppy.
My dog, Gunny's a great dog, but he's a guard dog. In our 3 story house, he stays on the first floor by the door 95% of the time. But Killer was the kind of dog that is with you every minute. In the attic, in the bedroom, in the bathroom, in the CLOSET!
And Gunny, after being a lone wolf all of his life was sad and mopey without his bro.
So we decided to adopt a new doggie!
We drove from shelter to shelter and spent an entire day falling in love with all of the homeless dogs in central Ohio. But after lots of waggy tails and play dates with Gunny, we knew that the boxer/mastiff mix that we met at the first place we had visited was the perfect fit for our family.
Meet....Zen
He bares a striking resemblance to his late brother, Killer.
He is 7 months old and weighed 47 pounds when we brought him home but he's already starting to bulk up on the Gunny diet!
We got him from a prison dog program. Homeless puppies are paired with prisoners and they live with and are trained by them. It's pretty awesome, and beneficial for both the dog and the guys who are locked up. He's housebroken, and sits, stays, lays down, and does a ton of other commands by verbal and hand signals. And it's clear that he was treated well. The guy who had him said that he had been in the program for 5 years so he was excited to train a new homeless pet for another family. Pretty cool.
Since there's no way to predict...I'm crossing my fingers that he doesn't get as big as this guy lol. but if he does, i'll probably think it's the best thing ever!
It's sad, it's happy, it's life.
Either way, I am ready for the new chapter.
So, moving on from that, I'm gonna have to title this section of the blog...my friends are adorable!
The next part I am stealing from a blog that I wrote WAY back whenever Suicide Girls made Alissa pink. It's stupid late since it was back in November... but I don't care because it took me a while to write it and I never got around to finishing it. One of these days I will learn to keep them short and sweet.
Anyyyyway here it is:,
MY LITTLE FRIEND IS PINK:
I'm going to start with my favorite surprise of the week, hell, my favorite awesome surprise in a long ass time!
A big Congratulations to my best friend, business partner, and the only photographer that I've shot with since she shot my third set for me because she makes me feel THAT comfortable, (FORMERLY known as, Alissa Brunelli), NOW........ JUST, Alissa on going pink and becoming a Suicide Girl!!
In case you missed Missy's announcement on the boards, Alissa is now, the second girl in SG history to go pink without a photo set (second, of course to Missy.
Alissa and I met back in 2006 when I had just gone pink and my set was still in limbo....
She had shot a handful of sets, and we met and decided to shoot together. I was her second accepted set to SG, the day after her first set of Roza went live!
5 years later, Alissa has almost 200 live sets (189 to be exact), and has turned 60 girls pink! SIXTY!!
just in case you're curious, I've compiled and spoilered a list for you. starting in January 2007 and working up to today, here are all of the girls that Alissa has turned pink:

I braved a snow storm to do some Ladies 80s with Fro and snapped some pictures while I was there!
she was at a much more advanced state of drunk than I, considering she had been out partying all day, and I had just gotten out, And it was her birthday! so it was the perfect time to get some pics of Frolic and her dude buds.
I am loving shooting. I'm pretty much doing everything I can to just shoot everything I can. I shot a few of my best girl friends at the studio yesterday. I will have photos very soon to share.
One of the things that is keeping me up at night with excitement is the photoshop class that I start a few weeks from now at CCAD where Alissa went to school.
I have been learning from Alissa and trying to teach myself to use lightroom so my photos are "slightly prepped", I like to call it.

I've been working on an EPIC blog for days! Unfortunately an unfinished epic blog is just shit! So for now, I'm going to post a quick blog because I can't STAND the outdated Halloween blog another minute.
But stand by, because epic takes time......because it's EPIC. lol.

is hosting a pinup fashion show on December 4th at this month's Short North Holiday Hop in Columbus, Ohio. Also: I'm pondering a new set. Basically, I'm thinking about starting to consider the possibility that i might hopefully be able to find the time to think about staring to plan my next set. But that's a lot further to a shoot than where I have been at which was.... I can't consider it...i'm too overwhelmed
Finally: I've been writing again. And I haven't written more than a couple of Hell City articles in over a year. So the fact that I feel settled enough to write is the best feeling ever.
I'm happier than I've ever been right now. Everything just keeps falling into place.....And it's been that way for an entire year. And, furthermore, I don't see it changing any time soon. so i'm pretty happy about that.

is hosting a pinup fashion show on December 4th at this month's Short North Holiday Hop in Columbus, Ohio. We've been working pretty hard to put this little shin-diggy together so if you're at the hop, we'd love to have you stop in and see us! We'll be there from 6:00-9:00, so stop in anytime and see us. Also: I'm pondering a new set. Basically, I'm thinking about starting to consider the possibility that i might hopefully be able to find the time to think about staring to plan my next set. But that's a lot further to a shoot than where I have been at which was.... I can't consider it...i'm too overwhelmed
Finally: I've been writing again. And I haven't written more than a couple of Hell City articles in over a year. So the fact that I feel settled enough to write is the best feeling ever.
I'm happier than I've ever been right now. Everything just keeps falling into place.....And it's been that way for an entire year. And, furthermore, I don't see it changing any time soon.
