I just got one the other day. Was definitely a good use of $3.99.

your plant didn't eat that fly. I grew many fly traps (look at my pics if you like) If the fly is not all the way inside of the trap the plant will not digest the fly. Really the trap you put the dead fly in will end up dying because the fly is not all the way in the trap. The trap is best eating LIVE food only because inside of the trap are
tiny hairs called trigger hairs. When the bug is alive and kicking inside of the trap will trigger the trigger hairs and cause the trap to shut and digest the bug. If you overfeed the plant or feed incorrectly or water it with anything other then rain water or distilled water you can pretty much count on killing your plant. if you really want to feed it give it an ant once a month and the ant has to be alive and kicking.
