Austin trip cancelled. Bummer, rescheduling for November.

It's pretty much rained here all week, I think I'm going to plant my garden today as the soil is now thoroughly moistened and the sun is out. Hoping that direct seeding my cucumbers will produce better results. Cross your fingers.

Bob posted this yesterday. I totally love it.

A Post Secret exhibit is in town. I'm off to see it this afternoon. I'm warming up for it by perving on:

I'm currently playing a bit of a waiting game with my life. I've got two weeks left at home before I'm officially on call for up to two weeks. When I get the call, I pack up my life into my car and move for the next 6 months. Arg. I feel like I don't know what to do, enjoy time at home or get out and try and "make the most" of every day. But the term "make the most" is a very subjective term, to some, spending time at home would be amazing, and to others that would be terrible. I'm just trying not to sit idle for too long, that will make me feel good. I'm fighting with myself if I should sleep in, or try and change to getting up at 4 am, as that will be my alarm time soon. Also cooking, I need to cook more. Because when I leave I'll be working 6 days a week for 12-14 hours a day, which means I'm going to be POOPED at the end of the day.
It will be an adventure and I'm excited for it.

Oh! I nearly forgot. Good luck with The Rapture tonight.

Sorry your Austin trip fell through. Making the most of time left can be a tricky thing - I would try to strike a balance between relaxing at home and getting out to enjoy the town. Your soon-to-be schedule sounds daunting, especially the 4 AM part. In terms of cooking and trying to eat healthy, your best option might be to make up a large quantity of stuff and freeze like a week's worth at a time. Look forward to hearing your reports from the front!

It's half past Rapture here, and nothing happened. I feel kinda gypped. As far as your waiting time goes before assignment, do what makes you happy, because you only go around once...

I've always wanted to go to a PostSecret exhibit, but I haven't been able to make it out to one yet. Have a great time!

John Waters gives good advice there. No books? No sex for you!

Oh yer coming in November. Ah, ok.

Hmmm how to best use your time? Well, here is what I used to do before being called. Slept in one day and was a total sloth. The next day, woke up at a decent hour, cleaned the house, washed clothes and prepped my travel boxes. After that, tried to be outdoors and spend time with my kids.
