I guess I've been avoiding the internet.




Things are both so happy and so difficult at once. I am having bigger money woes than I could have imagined. Credit crunch, anyone?
I'm fast approaching a life where there is no spare time. I say this as I'm sat on my bum watching Come Dine With Me, but from next month it's going to be all work and no play.

I need to start my dissertation soon which I am equally scared and excited about. I'm on a working title of 'Did the initial religious revival during the first Chechen war play a role in the ideology of Chechen separatists?'. or 'Is Political Islam a threat to Russia?". It will be neither of these titles but these are the areas I am looking at in my first stages of research and I will construct a question when I know a bit more about the subject specifics. I have started to notice a lot of assumption in the literature regarding religious ideology being the driving force behind the Chechen separatist movement when I had always understood it as more to do with conflict along ethnic, historic and national lines. I think it will also be really interesting to see how analysis on the ideology of Chechen separatists has changed since 9/11. I would put money on the slant towards religion having come post-2001.

This was going to be a really short journal but I suppose it's not. I suppose it's not the most exciting journal ever.

Every time I feel stressed, especially about money and work all I have to remember is 6th March 2010 = the date I will marry JohnStitch.

We are also moving soon and we will be practically neighbours with Doplex and mat8drb. You can guess if that's a good or a bad thing
