not a story, but a picture:
(hey! like a pitcher-book!)
p.s. i really wish someone had slipped emma bovary the arsenic around page 43. this woman is too self-centered to live. granted, her husband charles is complete oxygen-depletion personified, but GOOD GOD WOMAN. i wonder if "the vapors" were synonymous with middle-class ennui back in nineteenth century france? bleh.

this is taken from an art project i did for a class on celan and rilke last fall. it is a foine foine example of last minute bullduggery, esp. as i had made the pieces welllll before ever reading even a smidge of the course reading. wowsers. tongue

the vapors were a precursor to valium....

i always enjoyed writing papers prior to doing reading, although i did wind up in some sticky situations as a result ("wait, kitty mackinnon doesn't like porn....?"). i wound up with a useless (yet very pretty) degree in political science and women's studies. god bless the liberal arts, right?
