reading laura mulvey makes siv crazy. the one thing i hate about reading literary theory is that, unlike a good old fashioned verbal rough-n-tussle, you can't reach across the table and scream at the book when it says idiot things like "women represent castration to all men."

i'm becoming quite the master of procrastination. yesterday, while doing work in the big ol' bibliotheque, the fire alarm rang and i had to go bask like a happy lizard in the sun while waiting for the friendly firemen to come. yay for big flat rocks and circumstantial work-preventions out of my control.

onwards and upwards, or perhaps just online-wards and up-stairs. icecream may be involved?

Laura Mulvey is awesome! I don't agree with everything she says, but I'll never look at Hitchcock the same way again!! I saw your post in the "artists" section and went to your live journal - your pictures are cool. I was particularly impressed by the blue shot where only the whites of the subjects eyes are showing. Out of context, it's creepy !!

Laura Mulvey made me crazy too. she made a lot of sense, but at the same time there's so much more to life than reinterpreting Freud.

but I wrote a kickass paper turning Mulvey on her head, and won a contest with it, so I win. anyway, congrats on being pink.

I'm kinda new too, but from what I gather, your postings will appear in pink boxes if your a bonafide Suicide Girl (aka Pink Lady), not just a member. So I'm guessing that you applied with some pictures and were accepted as one of the feature girls? What then happens is that you are known as a "Limbo" girl until your first set of pictures actually gets publically posted.
