i found it at the south hadley olde tag sale-e on a beautiful sunny, hot-up the back of my jeanjacket may day. as adam described it, "fat things trying to sit in the shade."
we realized that once we have even three peso to rub together, we will be decorating the entire apartment with things like old bedpans and rusty turkish cigarette tins.
he bought a beautiful, spooky child's piano. it really does look like one of those clock-chime dollhouse "plays by itself when the wind is right" sort of things.

the best thing ever was a stand of what seemed to be old junky trunks. i opened a small, peat green minitrunk and saw an array of mysteriouslydecayed packets, and then realized it was a real WWII first aid kit. with boxed-up boric acid and curious little glass jars. for teeth? i have no idea.

but it's one of the coolest things i've ever seen. it's a thinker. how did it come back? why? was it ever really in Europe, on a beach, or just a memento from the Gainsville base?
i bought it for ten dollars.
