What is that you say? You like photos? Well, hot shit; here you go!
Here are photos from the Portland book signing of Hard Girls, Soft Light. It was so amazing to finally meet some members I had been talking to on this site for years and be around gorgeous women.
Isn't Portland full of babes?
After the signing, we went to The Matador for the Suicide Girls after party. A bunch of us went into the photo booth to flash our titties.
Aren't Toxic's boobs amazing?
The following day, the lovely Persephone got married. I carpooled with Lyxzen, Doxie, and Letigre. During our trek out of the city, Doxie spotted "Cumulus Road" and giggled. Catching my attention, she points through the windshield and chuckles out, "I'll come-you-less," as she looks at me through her rearview mirror. Everyone bursts out laughing. Lyxzen, the first to gain her composure, breaks the "news" that the road is named after a cloud and provided the correct pronunciation. Here's a tiny snippet of the conversation that followed:
(I'm a sneaky bastard with my phone)
Persephone made the most beautiful bride. Her reception was a tea party in the most gorgeous home I've ever seen. And, for entertainment, there was an entomologist. Here she is posing with a live twig insect.
The most delicious vegan treats were provided. Here, Lyxzen was showing us how adorable the candied beets were.
We also played a lot of mad libs.
Since, my life had been full of cats and babes.
(I love my friends)
If you've learned anything from the photos above, I hope that it's when you get a group of babes together, lots of photos happen. Love these ladies!!
And... what would my life be like without cats? Fucking boring.
Awww. <3
OH! Bride of One Night went into member review! Love on it HERE. On my next blog, maybe I'll tell you the backstory on that. But for now, go check out it. I'm off to try to be productive at the gym.
Today is a special day for me. Today is the anniversary of my reinvention.
Two years ago, I legally stopped being Tiffany _________, and became Tiffany ____________. No, I did not get married. I did, however, drop a name I had absolutely no connection to, and adopted a family name that always felt like my real name.
I was reborn. I felt as though I was able to dismiss a lot of baggage from my past, and take steps toward to creating a future I wanted for myself. I've come a long way in those two years, but I still have my battles.
Lessons that have I've learned that have made my life easier:
1) Accept people as they are, and always hope for the happiness of everyone. Happy people, generally, don't go out of their way to treat others like shit.
2) Life is too short to hold on to grudges. Drop the anger, and implement #1.
3) Give no fucks. So, hey, you're at a bar and they're playing your favorite David Bowie song and no one is dancing? Don't be shy -- get up and dance. Who cares what other people think? It's your life. Enjoy it.
4) Do what you want. Over the summer, I entertained the idea of living the life of a writer. Since, I've written a couple of manuscripts for books and short stories, made friends with a lot of writers and publishers, have been working with an awesome editor from a publishing company I have tremendous amounts of respect for, have had a short story published, and will hopefully have my first book published later this year. If you have an idea of what you want for your future, what are the steps you would need to take? Put those wheels in motion and make it happen.
5) Keep learning. Knowledge is incredibly gratifying, and it's important to exercise your brain. Don't give up because you haven't immediately become some sort of master/pro, be proud of what you have accomplished so far and keep learning.
6) Treat yourself to something everyday. Yes, this was borrowed from Twin Peaks. The treats don't have to be physical purchases. A treat can be break to enjoy the sunshine outside, five extra minutes of something you enjoy, etc. As long as you recognize that as a treat you are giving yourself, it's easy to sit back and enjoy the experience. They all add up after a while, and, at least for me, I notice that I feel much happier overall.
Today, I am treating myself to have a full day of doing things I enjoy. Right now, I am sitting here with the remaining sips of a delicious cup of coffee, have a Lush face mask on, and am enjoying the sunshine that is coming in through the windows. Later, I plan to work on my yard and continue to enjoy the sunshine. I will then top the evening with a Twin Peaks marathon while consuming copious amounts of pie and coffee.
Here's the rainbow after my storm:
After some unfortunate circumstances, I've come to happy realization that I can actually attend this signing. Myself and a good handful of ridiculously gorgeous women will be at Floating World Comics signing a book that every household should own: Hard Girls, Soft Light.
Check it.
My first published story: The Magazine of Bizarro Fiction (Issue Eight)
Kevin Shamel, author of Rotten Little Animals, Island of the Super People, and the upcoming Bigfoot Cop, described my work as "unsettling and gorgeous." If you've read my story, I would love to hear your thoughts, too!
I taught 1sailor how to use the front-face camera on his phone
Oh, wait. Have you picked up your COPY yet? I'll be the first to admit it, reading Kevin Shamel's introduction brought a little tear to my eye. Working with him, I have learned so much. I feel incredibly fortunate. Now, here's to hoping that my book doesn't suck! Haha.
Coming to Member Review on April 7th at 7 am!
Shot by the incredibly talented Dwam. Dwam and P_mod are two of my favorite people. Even though we had only met up for a few hours on one day, they have left a mark on me, and I will always remember them fondly. Here's to hoping that our paths will cross again one day soon!
Have you picked THIS up yet? Me and lots of other babes graces the likes of these pages. Suicide Girls is having a book signing event here in Portland, but sadly, it falls on one of the rare days that my manager asks me to work for him (this happens maybe once or twice a month). I shall, however, be there in spirit. So go get yer books signed and take some pictures with babes. Here is the book tour info:

Remember that cover of RISE magazine I was on? You can finally purchase a copy online. Here's the LINK.
Oh, PS:
I feel like a full-fledged adult. With my income tax return, I purchased a new refrigerator, a paper shredder, and a new printer for my home. Next up on my list of purchases: a new passport, and luggage. No, I don't have plans to travel, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared, right?
BOOM!
The Magazine of Bizarro Fiction (Issue #8) is out! If you look closely at the names on the cover of the magazine, you might come across a somewhat familiar name. Did you find it? Yes? No? Maybe?
I have a very short story, titled "Barbie's Nipple," published in this magazine. The story is about a dismal love affair between a girl without a face and a giant black widow. This was the story that I read to my family during my last visit. It was somewhat validating to see my family members cringe during my reading, and then later carry on deep, philosophical conversations about the meanings and representations of/in my story. The reading only took about 10-15 minutes, but the discussions that followed carried on for days. If you would like your very own copy of this awesome quarterly magazine, you can obtain an issue HERE.
In other news, I'm about two paragraphs away from finishing a manuscript for my book. While it is primarily a love story, it does contain some intense, gruesome scenes that would make any horror fanatic cringe and smile, all at the same time. There is already a significant amount of hype around this story, so I'm excited to see what comes of this manuscript. I'll be sure to keep you all posted.
Randoms:
I'm going to let you in on a little secret: every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it; don't wait for it; just let it happen. It could be a new shirt in a men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black, coffee. -- Agent Dale Cooper, Twin Peaks
Thank you P_mod and Dwam for this wonderful experience. And thank, Rise Tattoo Magazine! My first tattoo magazine cover is an excellent way to start the New Year
Also, it's confirmed, I am in this book:
Me and a whole lot of other babes can grace the likes of your coffee table, nightstand, etc through HERE. I just purchased myself a copy, so my next blog might contain a glimpse of what's inside. How exciting!
Now to smoothly transition from a recent purchase... I now have two jobs. Both are part time, but after doing the math, I'm now working the hours I need to pay all of my bills and still have time to write. And speaking of writing, I mentioned in my last blog that I was participating in an event called Pitch-A-Palooza. Well, the results are in, and editors are requesting to see manuscripts of a small handful of my pitches. Considering I'm such a newb to all of this, it was really exciting to see my name show up a handful of times on that final list. Messages from other writers have trickled in, congratulating me on my successful outcome --such a wonderful group of people! Cheesy as it may sound, Bizarro Fiction saved my life. True story. I have a writer's association meeting tomorrow night, and I promised my editor I would have a manuscript to him by the end of this week. Shit is getting hella busy up in here!
Other news: I went to LA.
The time went by way too fucking fast, and I never seemed to find the time to hang out with everyone I would've liked to. C'est la vie. I guess this means I just need to visit more often
Outside at 530 am.
I've known this broad for 17 years. Love her!
First meal in LA.
I saw the Kubrick exhibit at LACMA. Fuck yes!
My grandma got a little camera shy and kept trying to dodge my aunt's camera.
My favorite photo of my grandmother and me. She kept yelling at my aunt to take the photo from that angle because she "didn't want to look like yoda." I love that woman.
Uhhhh...
Oh, yeah!

I am waiting on a set by Dwam. I know I have said this before, but I think that this one might be my best set to date! I can't wait to share it with you all! Also, when it gets closer to being viewed by everyone, I'll probably be looking to take things down from MR if they haven't budged. I love both of those sets, but I feel bad taking up so much space in MR. Here's to hoping that staff picks them up though!
<3 PORTLAND LADIES IN MR <3
Since I posted "Portland Ladies in MR," two of the sets I've mentioned have made it as set of the day. Let's keep this going!
First order of business.
Congratulations, Radeo! Great job at being a total babe and an all-around super awesome lady. When your next cover for Inked Girls comes out, I want a signed copy
Second order of business.
The writing goes well. I feel like it's all I do these days. Between Pitch-A-Palooza (month-long pitch submission event), short stories for upcoming magazines, and writing out my second novella, words/plots/characters/etc. are constantly jabbing at my brain. A routine sleep schedule dumped my ass months ago, but I'm okay with that. It feels wonderful to create again.
The Eraserhead Press Christmas Party:
(some of these photos were stolen from Vince Kramer because he's awesome at documenting things)
Group test shot (photo by VK)
Another test shot
The "official" group photo (snapped by VK's partner)
We were all given toys. Jeremy was testing the twisting ability of his new toy on Mykle.
I brought a fake tattoo kit, and we all gave ourselves prison-looking tattoos.
Lots of video games were played. Here, Vince snapped a photo of me mastering Galaga while Jeremy buzzed that toy near my ear.
(this was seconds before Cameron shot a sticky dart at my head)
The green blaster of doom! Anyone who played video games that night was subject to getting shot at on the head... or have an octopus puppet gently massage their scalp.
And I continue to make pretty faces at cameras:
This party started at 7pm, and ended at 6am the following morning. Such a fun evening with such a wonderful crowd. I heart these people pretty hard.
Third order of business
Happiness. It took a while for it to come back into my life, but each day continues to get better. Here's to looking forward to what the future has in store! Lyxzen and I with our high-fiving unicorns!
Celebrating birthdays.
Wearing funny mustaches.
Trying new things just because.
Admiring the beauty around me.
Warm layers and good music.
And still more business. SG has a fabulous NEW BOOK out. There is a slight chance that I am in that book. I had been asked a series of questions for an upcoming book project, but I have no idea if it's this one or another one in the works. If someone snags a book, can you let me know? Haha. I know I'll eventually purchase a copy for myself, but I still have to smooth out the kinks in my financial situation.

<3 PORTLAND LADIES IN MR <3
Since I posted "Portland Ladies in MR," two of the sets I've mentioned have made it as set of the day. Let's keep this going!
I've just had, quite possibly, the most amazing weekend ever.
I've attended the fifth annual BizarroCon, and seriously feel as though I've found home. Never have I found myself surrounded by so many intelligent, creative, weird, and hilarious people in my life. Instantly, I was made to feel welcomed, and the rest of weekend played out like a dream that I never wanted to wake from.
Here are photos:
Michael Allen Rose having his pages burned as he reads. The lovely Spike Marlowe is his page-burning assistant.
Publisher at Eraserhead Press Rose O'Keefe and bizarro author Kirsten Alene being adorable.
Shane McKenzie after his reading. At this point, he was making his way around the house offering fortune cookies with the best fortunes ever! Much like:
and...
My fortune read "Jeff Burk is going to climb inside of you." What was funny was that I had just grabbed dinner and a drink with him before this party to talk about writing and shoot the shit about nerdy stuff. I managed to snag him to show him the fortune, we both laughed, and decided to take advantage of the photo op.
Speaking of Jeff, check out this gem!
This fella published a rare Carlton Mellick III book that I absolutely love titled "Red World." He sort of became my convention bestie. Can't wait to hang out again next year, dude!
At the Wonderland Awards Ceremony, there was a vienna sausage eating contest (gag):
Many entertaining performances during the Bizarro Showdown:
(Kevin Shamel performing his one-act play.)
Hanging out with marvelous people:
Brian Keene and myself.
Wonderland Novel of the Year award winner Laura Lee Bahr smelling Ross E. Lockhart's luscious locks:
One of my favorite ladies ever (Constance Ann Fitzgerald):
Jeff Burk and Andrew Goldfarb.
Michael Allen Rose, Kevin Shamel, and Matthew Humphries dancing like pteradactyls.
With Portland artist Chrissy Horchheimer.
And... dubstep vampire Andrew Wayne Adams:
I had video of some of the performances, but if it wasn't horrible quality or sound, I would have loved to share them with you guys. I should also note that I'm normally not a fan of giving people's first and last names (hell, even naming them if people don't already know them), but I thought I'd give names to reference if you ever want to check out bizarro fiction. Search the above people through amazon.com, and I can assure you, you'll find books you want to read.
I hardly slept this weekend, had way too much fun, and may have been one of the only persons that wasn't stabbed by Jeremy Robert Johnson (I got a high-five instead). I came home with more books than I can carry, more than half of them signed by the marvelous friends I've made. The weekend came to end, and the sadness filled me. I seriously cannot wait to do this again next year.
On another note:
Looks like I'm going to get published! My book will more than likely not come out until this time next year, but I've been asked to submit short stories in the meanwhile for quarterly magazines to start to build interest before the book is released.
When Kevin told me the news, I didn't know how to react. I think I just silently sat there as he excitedly told me about how I've managed to impress a whole bunch of people and how people have vouched saying that I need to be a part of Eraserhead Press. Later, when Rose came up to me and said that everyone at Eraserhead loves me, I felt a tremendous warmth inside and knew that I have found home. Thank you Jeff, Carlton, Rose, and Kevin for being so fucking awesome. And thank you to everyone else for the love and support you've shared with me over the weekend. I truly feel like BizarroCon gave me a new family.
Now I am home. Aside from puking on the jacket wore to the convention, my cats have been as affectionate as ever.
Let the reading and writing commence!
Love. Silencia
Oh, shit! The usual SG stuff. How could I forget?! Here we go:
I was a Vulcan. At work, I have to wear a white shirt, BUT I did wear my science communicator badge! It's tough to tell in this photo because the light, white shirt, and vaseline on the lens effect
The elections are over. Obama won (thank jeebus!). A lot of people have been giving him a hard time, but think of the mess he was left with when he started. How much has it cost our country to go to war and develop all of the military "tools"? Yes, he's had to make an awful lot of cuts to essential programs, but he's trying to remedy the mess that Bush Jr created. Also, how refreshing to finally have a president that recognizes the importance of equal rights for all. That man is amazing!
"Vote! Your future depends on it!"
Tattoos Galore!
Not kidding. It's been a busy month for me.
Ryan Mason continues to be my favorite. I had my reservations of getting both feet done on the same day (mostly because I had to work the next day), but Ryan convinced me that I would probably thank him once he had it all done. He was absolutely right. After having worked on the first foot,, he had apparently taken note of which spots hurt the most and tackled those first on the second foot. He knows a lot about pain management, and paid attention to how I was holding up. My second foot was done in half the time it took him to finish the first one. While my feet felt like giant jello globs, I was incredibly relieved to not have to go back for round two. Thank you, Ryan! You are the best!
These tattoos were done by Silje Hagland. This was actually my first tattoo done by Silje, and the experience was an absolute joy. Not only is she super easy on the eyes, she's hilarious, and an absolute joy to work with.
Finally! I finished this piece:
Your inner thigh is kind of a funny spot to get tattooed. Most of the time, I had to lay with my legs fully spread while Greg Whitehead (sorry, no webpage to link you. You can check out his instagram: @greggletron) worked around trying to complete the tattoo. Funny quote of that day goes to Lyxzen: "I'm so goth, I queef bats." The quote was made after I said I felt like the bat in the tattoo is shooting out of my vagina. Haha.
^letting my thigh soak with the bandaid wash. The bandaid wash is AWESOME!
Sort of going off of the tattoo speak, I recently completed an interview for Rise Tattoo Magazine. Not sure if it'll make it into next month's issue or not, but I'll be sure to keep you folks posted. I discuss gender, my writing, and the importance of considering your tattoo shop as a home away from home. The interview is fun and smart. Hopefully it'll be available for you all to read soon
My writing!
I'm meeting with the two editors for the publishing company I've submitted my first book to in less than a week. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time.
