Halloween passed. What did you dress up as?
I was a Vulcan. At work, I have to wear a white shirt, BUT I did wear my science communicator badge! It's tough to tell in this photo because the light, white shirt, and vaseline on the lens effect
The elections are over. Obama won (thank jeebus!). A lot of people have been giving him a hard time, but think of the mess he was left with when he started. How much has it cost our country to go to war and develop all of the military "tools"? Yes, he's had to make an awful lot of cuts to essential programs, but he's trying to remedy the mess that Bush Jr created. Also, how refreshing to finally have a president that recognizes the importance of equal rights for all. That man is amazing!

Tattoos Galore!
Not kidding. It's been a busy month for me.
Ryan Mason continues to be my favorite. I had my reservations of getting both feet done on the same day (mostly because I had to work the next day), but Ryan convinced me that I would probably thank him once he had it all done. He was absolutely right. After having worked on the first foot,, he had apparently taken note of which spots hurt the most and tackled those first on the second foot. He knows a lot about pain management, and paid attention to how I was holding up. My second foot was done in half the time it took him to finish the first one. While my feet felt like giant jello globs, I was incredibly relieved to not have to go back for round two. Thank you, Ryan! You are the best!
Lyxzen and I got matching tattoos!
These tattoos were done by Silje Hagland. This was actually my first tattoo done by Silje, and the experience was an absolute joy. Not only is she super easy on the eyes, she's hilarious, and an absolute joy to work with.
Finally! I finished this piece:
Your inner thigh is kind of a funny spot to get tattooed. Most of the time, I had to lay with my legs fully spread while Greg Whitehead (sorry, no webpage to link you. You can check out his instagram: @greggletron) worked around trying to complete the tattoo. Funny quote of that day goes to Lyxzen: "I'm so goth, I queef bats." The quote was made after I said I felt like the bat in the tattoo is shooting out of my vagina. Haha.

Not kidding. It's been a busy month for me.

Sadly, because I will be working all day, I can't really dress up in my original costume idea (the Black Queen/The Tyrant from Barberella). So instead, I'll be a vulcan. I have the ears, now all I have to do is re-shape my eyebrows and trim my bangs. It'll be tough to stay in character all-day, but I'll look damn good
How awesome is this shirt?! I tried ordering it last night, but my laptop is a piece of doo-doo and experienced a glitch as I tried to hit "submit order." The shop is also getting ready to release some awesome shorts, so maybe I'll just wait to place my order until those come in too. We'll see...
Speaking of laptop, my wonderful grandmother sent me funds to buy a new one as a congratulations for finishing my first book. I tried to decline the gift because I felt it was too much, but she told me it's rude to not accept the gifts that people are happy to give. I love that woman. The new laptop has been ordered, and should be arriving just before halloween.
I've heard from the publisher! They like what I've submitted so far, and expressed interest in meeting me for a cup a coffee so that we can discuss Bizarro fiction and my ideas for the future. I'm really SUPER excited about this. Although it's not yet a for sure yes to publishing my book, it's that much more of my foot in the door.
Now I have BizarroCon to prep for. A weekend full of the most fabulously strange individuals the Pacific Northwest has to offer. So excited!

I got out of work a little while ago, and just opted to come home. The bus driver excitedly announced, "it's Friday night!" as I paid my fare. I smiled, accepted my transfer, and sat towards the back of the bus.
Tomorrow, I will do nothing but drink coffee and write.
I wanted to express my gratitude to Suicide Girls. My last blog was so rushed, that I really didn't convey what I most wanted to say. So, little ol' me is still kind of in shock that I even made this cut.

Today is writing day. Am I writing what I set out to write today? No, but I'll get there in due time. My first book has taken many interesting turns, and while I'm having a blast writing it, I'm a little nervous about how that first read will go. The deadline I set for myself is fast-approaching, but I am confident I'll get this done relatively stress-free.

I saw The Hives for the first time. While I feel that most of their songs sounds very similar, they put on a very entertaining show.

I just opened up my own Etsy Shop. There's not a whole lot there now, but more items will be coming soon (and more than just hair accessories).
I originally announced that I would hopefully open this shop around mid-september, but after a few very productive days, my "grand opening" came a little early. Now to see how this venture pans out
Second!
I am currently in the works of writing not one, not two, but FOUR bizarro fiction novellas. The first, I am hoping to submit to a handful of publishers by the end of October. If all goes well, yours truly will be one of very few women who have broken into that specific genre. I really am way too excited about all of this.
Third!
A little sage wisdom: If you believe in karma, worry only about your own.
About a month and a half ago, I was subject to some bullying by someone who I have happily ignored for well over a year. They told me that negative events happening in my life were the result of "karma biting (me) in the ass." While they also made negative remarks about my personal and romantic life, they also publicly berated me on a variety of social networking sites by taking my words out of context and twisting them around to inspire complete strangers to harass me. As frustrating as it was find myself in this situation, I simply told the person to drop the unnecessary negativity and try to enjoy the sunny day. I "walked away" from the situation, and left it as it was. Later, mutual friends spilled that serious negative shit happened to the person who bullied me. Hmmmm.

My beautiful bestie Sweetheart recently got married. She really made the most beautiful bride. I was her maid of honor and the person who gave her away. Congratulations to her and her partner!
I love how photogenic she is. Now that the wedding is out of the way, on to prepare for the arrival of her first child. I get to be the godparent! Woo-hoo!

I had a celebration of sorts recently. Thanks to everyone who went out of their way to make me feel special and reminded me just how lucky I truly am. I love you guys!
In just a little over two weeks, my love Sweetheart is getting married. I'll be her maid of honor, the person who gives her away (her family will not be present for her wedding), and the guardian/godparent to her child once it's born. Lots of exciting changes for Sweetheart. Be sure to send your congratulations if you feel so inclined.
While I have so many wonderful things going on, I can't shake the feeling that I need to be in a different country. I would love nothing more than to just pack a suitcase and see where the wind blows me. Sadly, I've got shit that anchors me here. A person should always dream though, no? I know that I need to at least go to Scotland to hug my mother and siblings. My stepfather recently passed away, and I wasn't able to attend the service due to the short notice and lack of expendable funds for airfare. One day soon though... hopefully.

While I have so many wonderful things going on, I can't shake the feeling that I need to be in a different country. I would love nothing more than to just pack a suitcase and see where the wind blows me. Sadly, I've got shit that anchors me here. A person should always dream though, no? I know that I need to at least go to Scotland to hug my mother and siblings. My stepfather recently passed away, and I wasn't able to attend the service due to the short notice and lack of expendable funds for airfare. One day soon though... hopefully.

Aside from learning French, I've also been drinking lots of coffee, modifying clothes, making all sorts of art, and hanging out with the best people this planet has ever known.

Speaking of Member Review, there are soooo many amazing sets out there. I was taking a gander the other day at what's out there, and was blown away to see so many amazing photos, gorgeous ladies, and sets that appear to be doing SUPER well (1200+ comments, and really high "I loved it" percentage rates) - honestly, I don't know how SG staff do it. I can't even fathom the pressure they must feel from deciding. Haha.
Anyway, I should probably run and make coffee. I have a Lilac sleeping in the next room as I type up this update.
