You know what would be fucking cool?

A DAY OF SILENCIA

Haha. No, really though. It would be awesome to wake up and see...

THIS on the front page as set of the day. Only to have it later be followed by...

this when it goes into Member Review.

March 2, 2012. Day of Silencia. Has a nice ring to it, no? Hahaha. Ah, how lovely it is to dream. Here's to keeping hope alive.

I wanted to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to fellas who bestowed their generosity to shower me with lovely gifts for Valentine's day. I'm not gonna drop names, but you guys know who you are. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. blush

(yes, the above book is titled "Zombies and shit." I read classy literature, okay? tongue)

Speaking of v-day, I had my annual visit with the lady-parts doctor. The discussion I had with my friend afterwards made me wish I was more quick-witted and not afraid to crack bad jokes in front of the doctor. Of course, the doctor usually tries really hard to mask a worried/appalled look when you mention you're not taking/using any sort of birth control. When I was asked "what are you using to protect yourself against pregnancy and STDs?" I meekly answered, "not having sex?" Only after the event, did it occur to me say something like "my personality?" "my debonaire charm and uncanny ability to quote Anchorman from start to finish," etc. Sigh. Next time wink

Goodnight.

Happy February 13th! Can I say that this blog is about pussy? SG, can that be included in the CATEGORY scroll down menu?

Hahaha. Anyway, want to see some pussy action?

We've discovered a new game that's still pretty much hit or miss. Basically, I throw toy mice into the air, and the cats decide if they want to attack the mice midair... or just let the mice land next to them (or on their head). The latter isn't as fun.

I had a real rough week last week, so this morning I woke up motivated to not let shit bring me down. I got my hair snipped at. I treated myself to some Lush products (I blame Lyxzen for my addiction). And I danced through the streets of Portland while blasting Ministry and The Kills on my ipod. Yes, I feel a lot better now.

Thank you!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to the marvelous person who got me this off of my wishlist.

I've had a tough time finding this book at my local bookstores, so I REALLY appreciate the gift. kiss

EDITED to add:

Eep! And thank you a million times over for the above stuff. It was a pleasant surprise to have so many boxes show up. You folks sure know how to make a person feel special. Shucks blush

I know that tomorrow is supposed to be some sort of special day. Wanna see who I'll be spending it with?

This guy has seen me at my worst, and still seems to love the shit out of me. Right now, he's curled up on a pillow right next me and will occasionally perk his head up just to see if I'm still here. It's kind of really cute.

Doll Harem is still in Member Review. Check it out (if you haven't already).

MARCH 2nd @ 7pm. Black Lodge (shot by DarrylDarko) will be landing its sultry self in Member Review. Save the date!

Alright, I'm about to confess something that I never thought I would utter in a million years...
I'm developing a liking for Harry Potter.

I know, I know. When the movies were still in the theaters, I knew people that were so obsessed, they would dress up as characters and go to the very first showing. I thought they were crazy. This past halloween, my supervisor had the idea that we all dress like characters from Harry Potter. My supervisors and coworkers agreed that I would make a perfect Bellatrix - I had no idea who she was. With time quickly passing, I figured watching the movies would be the quicker route to figuring out a costume. So I watched them, and kind of loved them. I pulled off an awesome costume, ended up obtaining my own copies of the movies, and now I'm looking to start reading the series (books are usually better than the movies, and I hear these are no exception). Another confession: I kind of want to be the "meat" between a Severus Snape and Sirius Black (once he's cleaned up... like in The Order of the Phoenix) sandwich. Meow.

Onward...

Life continues to have its ups and downs, yet I try my darndest to stay positive and find the beauty around me. A few of my favorite things:

-The way Portland looks when it rains.

-When it starts to rain real hard, retreating into a coffee shop for fancy coffee and sassy journalism (note: normally, I drink my coffee black. On the rare occasion though, something fancy, like a mexican mocha with rice milk really brings a smile to my face)

-debates through bathroom graffiti.

-continuing my process of becoming a painted woman.

Throw in babes, hardcover books, cat cuddles, and ghost pepper sauce on savory foods, I'd say you got yourself one happy Silencia!

Other stuff I should mention:
Thank you for the continued love on Doll Harem. Still keeping my fingers crossed that it'll hit front page again. As I was looking through to see which pictures I'd use to sample for the set, I couldn't help but smile at the photos where character was broken and someone is either laughing or grinning in the set. For example:

(bottom half of the photo: see Doxie grin? She nailed that boob-grab while blindfolded! Hahaha)

(Doxie and I cracking up)

We still managed to pull off sexy though!

Now that I've brought this to your attention, feel free to look through the set and see what little things you notice wink

Something to look forward to?

DarrylDarko is pretty fucking awesome. End of story.

Emerald City Comic Con is coming up. SG doesn't have a confirmed booth yet, but how awesome would it be if we were there?! I really like this convention. It has more to offer than Wizard World, is easier to get around in than DragonCon, and isn't as conservative as SDCC (where I was given shit for having a girlfriend). Plus, George Takei will be there. Oh myyyyy.

I think that's it. Tomorrow, I have plans to hang out with my favorite Jersey girl and give belated birthday hugs to Lyxzen.

I love you.

P.S.
For you Facebook people. I have over 1300 friend requests here. It seems kind of daunting to start sorting through all those. Facebook will be the clean slate!

DarrylDarko rocks my socks. This was shot less than 10 hours ago.

Here are more previews I snagged from his camera with my phone:

From the road...

The Los Angeles area has been absolutely lovely. Stepping off the plane and deeply inhaling the richly polluted air is like no other experience I'd care to describe. I deeply despised living here while growing up, but now, having spent a good chunk of time away, I find myself nostalgic for dirty-city living.

Standing at the airport with my vintage luggage, I almost instantly felt like a child in a toy store as I took in the sights with rested eyes. Plastic-surgery-gone-wrong survivors with fake tans, trophy wives actively ignoring exhausted looking husbands, children so immersed into whatever new, hip electronic gadget they held in their eager hands - I was awestruck. Between the neon sunset, smell of shit in the air, and the caliber of people around me, I felt like I had landed in a John Waters film... and I was surprisingly okay with this.

I've missed my family and friends that I grew up with. I've missed my usual haunts. I've missed a whole lot about this stinkin' city, but I know that these feelings would quickly fade if I ever moved back here. I've made a lovely home away from this city, and it will be good to return to what's been waiting for me this whole past week.

Here are photos:

(I took my grandmother to get a manicure and pedicure. Can you see how tiny she is? I'm not a tall person, but I'm at least a foot taller than her now. Sheesh)

(mischief gleamed in my eyes as my childhood friends and I drove past this tour van)

(I make the prettiest faces, don't I?)

Los Angeles, thank you for your amazing vegan food and culture. I thoroughly enjoyed being surrounded by a steady flow of conversations in Spanish and Portuguese. It was awesome to spend this time with family and friends, and I look forward to doing this again soon.

As promised…

I'm providing this update from the airport. Yay for airport wi-fi!

Anyway...

Being a homeowner hasn’t fully sunk in yet. As I sit and type this, there’s still an un-assembled IKEA dresser at the foot of my bed, and boxes I still have to unpack in the next room. I’m getting there though, but last month was a fucking nightmare.

I was scheduled to close towards the beginning of November. As time progressed, little things kept coming up that delayed our closing date. I finally closed, but with two weeks left before I was scheduled to vacate my apartment. Those two weeks I had left, I pushed myself harder than I ever pushed myself before. With the help of a very special few people (one lady in particular was around for EVERYTHING, and a second lady was around for two incredibly stressful crunch times), I managed to have carpet (and tack strips) ripped out in the new place; painted the new place fun colors; painted the apartment back to boring eggshell colors; packed and moved all of my belongings; had a new floor installed; discovered a bowl full of stagnant water in a light fixture and ended up having almost my entire kitchen ceiling replaced (something the inspector missed…oops); deep cleaned both places… all while still working a standard 45 hour work week. Throw in one of my cats experiencing some freakish symptoms that resulted in two trips to the vet clinic (he’s fine), breaking my headphone jack IN my ipod, and my phone having all of it’s memory wiped, you’ll have painted yourself an accurate picture of this whole fiasco.

(PS: I had way more photos, but most of the photos were lost due to the memory wipe. Poop)

My whole body hurts, and my hands look and feel rough. Now that I’m starting to settle in, I’m trying to focus on proper self-care, I’m trying to be good (I’m not) about stretching, and lotion is currently having a consistent, intimate relationship with me. Lyxzen gave me a ton of awesome LUSH products as a housewarming gift, so those will be coming in handy for helping rid the feelings of haggardness. Someday I’ll be caught up on sleep, but I’m not too worried about it now tongue

Things to look forward to:
Something new from Blyde. I wanted to put in a hot preview, but in looking through my bag, I've realized I forgot my thumb drive at home. Oops.

I also wanted to give a huge thank you to those who have not forgotten about Doll Harem. I love this set dearly, and I’m crossing all my fingers and toes that it’ll hit front page again. Wanna check out another set I’m in? Follow me!

When did it get to be the middle of December? Sweet jesus. What are you guys doing for the holidays? I’m going to LA for a week, and then coming back to the fabulous DarrylDarko being in town. I’m stoked.

Well, off to fight off feeling like a full-fledged adult. I think I need to build a pillow fort… I. Will. Never. Grow. Up.
