So happy that I actually get to hang out with my family for Thanksgiving! I was scheduled to work at my crappy job at 2am on Black Friday (can you believe that shit?!) BUT luckily, my idiot boss rearranged the schedule so now I get to close on Friday instead of help open.
Also, this is for everyone who shops on Black Friday, especially you assholes who do it at like midnight:
You are a shit person! What the fuck are you doing shopping at midnight??!!! Why the fuck are you not spending Thanksgiving with your family over-eating like a goddamn normal person?! I'm not big into Thanksgiving because it's a celebration based on a series of massacres, but it's an excuse to spend time with people you love, so just do that! (TRUE history, not Disney BS) Also, it's the assholes like YOU, who insist on shopping at 2 in the fucking morning, who make it so people who work jobs like ME can't spend time with their families. YOU are directly causing the suffering and lack of sleep of everyone in the retail/customer service industry! So, on behalf of everyone working on Black Friday: Go fuck yourself! I hope you get trampled to death by a bunch of other assholes on your way to some cheap toy.
So, what are all of you folks doing on National Genocide Day?
I hope you'll be making the most of something horrible by making it a day of happiness with the people you love
OK, enough rantings for the Native girl, take care folks!
XOXO, Selene

I have been slacking so bad on doing a new blog! oops!
So...what's new in my world?
WELL, I shot a set with Milloux earlier today and it looks FANTASTIC! She is so talented, she made me look super-duper hot!
Once I get my hands on some preview pics, the first thing I will do is post them on here! I also got to hang out with my lovely Siriuss and her awesome hubby Hideki (and their sister Frankie), if you don't know these guys, you should go say hi because they're great peoples!
I also met Brandie during the awesome sleep-over in this bitchin Tacoma flat and I got to meet Blyde this morning, they are both super sweet and hot...go check them out if you haven't already!
Concerts!
I got to see Garbage a few weeks ago and Shirley Manson rocked it! She is so tiny though, like 5 feet tall at most. lol And next Wednesday I will get to see Crystal Castles!!
I bet that show will be crazy and super fun and then on Friday I will get to see one of my favorite bands (for the 3rd time), The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. Seriously, they are such cool people and their shows are always SUCH a good time and tickets are always cheap...like $15 or less cheap. GO SEE THEM!
And in a few days I will get to hang out with Calamity while she visits Portland.
I am super excited to meet her, she seems like a rad lady!
I'll try to report back in a timely manner on all this fun soon.
Take care friends!

And here they are, as promised!
Now, keep in mind that Sunshine took pics of her computer with her iphone so the quality isn't nearly as good as it would be directly from a computer...but I still think they look good.

Guess who shot a fantastic set with Sunshine earlier this week? That would be me! And she sent me some SUPER cute preview pics that she took from her phone...of what was on her computer screen.
But they still look really good and I'm SO excited to see them when she's done! I'll put them up once I get them uploaded and sorted

Gee, I haven't really been around here much lately, have I? Sorry to everyone that I love that I have not been keeping up with! I'm sure I've missed some things and please do not take my lack of commentary on blogs and such personally!!
I still love you guys, I promise!
Work has been keeping me busy. Which reminds me, how many of you actually watched my video??
The second installment is up now if you want to check it out.
Violet B6-IX superheroine And I've been trying to do more modelling that isn't of the nude variety to build up a portfolio that I can actually show most people. I'm not quitting SG, but since they don't seem too excited about my last sets, I figured I would give them a break for a while...or at least until someone like writeboy, Hildreth or Lavonne comes to visit Portland. (Hint, hint guys!!)
How have all of you lovely people been doing?? Please, tell me all the juicy details I have been missing these past few weeks!

OK, I did an Announcement earlier, but I wanted to go a bit more in to the issue...shocking, I know.
Who here thinks it would be totally cool to do an SG set in a Church? Cathedral? Mosque? And if you do, are you religious? If you are, I would actually love to know the thought behind that...
For me, I am not religious, and anyone who knows me even a little knows that I especially dislike the Catholic Church. I think they are sexist, bigoted, and see no problems with extorting and hoarding money from people by claiming they are the only path to God...I won't even get into the scandals...
That being said, I would never dream of shooting a set for SG, or doing any naked pictures at all, in a Church because I respect what that place is for the religion and the people who have faith in it. The Institution of the Church doesn't really mean crap to me, but a lot of the people do because they aren't bad people and they deserve respect like anyone else, including the respect for things most important to them. (Shit, I would even ask before taking pictures at all out of respect!)
That being said, who is familiar with something called a Smudging Ceremony or Smudge Ritual? If any of you have spent time around Native Americans or been to a Pow Wow, I am sure you have seen this and that you would also know that it's a very important and sacred thing. During the Ceremony a bundle (or "stick") of Sage is burned so that the smoke may cleanse and heal people and sometimes places. I have never heard of photography being allowed during one of these Ceremonies, though some might not mind on a personal level, I haven't seen it at group events...and, as always, when you're witnessing something that is sacred or that you are unfamiliar with, it is almost best to ask someone who does know or the person performing the ceremony.
Now my point: I recently came across a set of pictures, not on here that I know of, but on another site that does pictures similar to SG pretty often. After my initial shock and anger, I decided to let myself chill out a bit before saying something...nothing too harsh either. I let the photographer know that the theme of the set was based on a very sacred ceremony and having it be used in that way was insulting. Not too bad, right? No name calling or anything like that.
This was my response: "um, sorry to offend you. but what you said could apply to so many sets on another popular alt site, i'm sure you know what i mean. anyway, i'm sorry if you took it the wrong way, but the title is simply a play on words and she happens to be burning some sage in the photos. and maybe we think of being naked and sharing it to BE a sacred thing. isn't it? sorry if you don't feel that way.."
And now I'm a bit pissed: So I respond that "other sets" on the "other site" (wink, wink! they meant here) don't concern me because they aren't about MY culture or rituals being exploited for profit, so that is for those people to be concerned with. (Though, depending on how insulting it was, I would probably say something if I came across anyway) And that if it were just a "play on words" then there would have only been some play on using/burning the Sage, not specifically calling it what the Ceremony that uses the sage is called, sage isn't even mentioned! I said that I hope they both thought a little more next time and also mentioned that while I DO think nudity and sex/sexuality can be a very sacred thing, it kind of loses that when it's done for money... I do not think posing nude for money is wrong (obviously!
) and I don't think having sex for money is wrong (please legalize and regulate prostitution!:kiss
, but I also don't try to pretend that feeling good about myself naked and getting some cash on the side for it is anything more grand or noble than being naked and getting paid.
It is what it is, and that's ok.
What do you think? Am I overreacting here? I think I am reacting a bit better than would happen if you were to be caught taking naked pictures in a Church, but I could be wrong.
As always, I welcome the thoughts and discussion, even if you disagree with my views.
Have a good night/morning everyone!
xoxo, Selene

HEYYY!
I know, I have been pretty lazy when it comes to doing updates, but it just feels weird to me to write a blog when I don't feel like I have anything interesting to say, you know?
So, I got worked over today! I have been working on a video series where I am a total badass!
My name is Violet and I thought I was just an average college student until some creepy guys in blackout masks kidnap me. After lots of fighting and torture, I start to find out that I am actually a super-human weapon that all these bad people want to use for their nefarious purposes, but I end up kicking their butts in the end. (Think Sci-Fi's Dark Angel with Jessica Alba)
So please, go check me out and let me know what you think! Video #1 is up!
Violet B6-IX
I also have an interview on Tuesday with a local Grassroots organization that works a lot for social issues like fighting poverty and campaigning for Planned Parenthood. I am super excited and a bit nervous!
I would REALLY like for them to hire me because I think working the system is the only way to change things. I know the Occupy movement is still going on, but I don't think it works! I mean, they don't have clear direction because they don't believe in "leadership" so it's basically a bunch of people who are unhappy with the way things are going, but don't do much more than marches and camping. I think that is you really want to make changes, you need to use politics! You need to get your issues out there to the people (like Occupy) but you also need to get them on ballots (unlike Occupy). Get your issues up for voting, get the people you want into Public Office and push your issues to Washington where you might actually get the chance to change policies that will live in past you! AWARENESS IS POINTLESS WITHOUT ACTION! (Which is another reason why that Kony thing was total bullshit)
I also had an interview last Friday for a program that I REALLY want to get in to! The program is to get certified in Veterinary Technology and I want it SOOO bad, but it's VERY competitive; they only admit 30 students a year and about 5x that will apply each year. Luckily, I have owned animals, including horses, my whole life and I also worked in a Veterinary Clinic for about a year when I lived in Southern California; the lead Veterinarian doing he interview even knew the Clinic I worked at,
So, all my experience will help, a lot, but because it's the only program of its kind in the Pacific Northwest, there are a lot of people who already work as Technicians who will be applying that will have even more experience than me.
I think it went really well though, the panel seemed to really like how I answered their questions and the Lead Vet. said that he loved my enthusiasm and thought we had a "great interview" so keep your fingers crossed for me!
I should know by this time next month whether I made it or not, either way I will keep you posted.
xoxo, Selene

Sigh, being fairly broke has ensured that I have become rather boring lately. My achievements have included: I went on a nice "hike" last weekend, it was really just 2 miles on a trail with some slight ups and downs, but at least it was a nice park...getting caught up on shows like Californication, finishing Justified and American Horror story...oh, I can keep my end of a conversation up on Game of Thrones, Real Time with Bill Maher and usually The Daily Show and Colbert Report...And I did a movie swap night with the boyfriend where I got him to finally watch Casablanca and I finally watched Dirty Harry and it was pretty awesome!
And I'm almost finished with You Are Not So Smart by David McRaney (there is also a website with the same name) and it's fantastic! It's really cool to learn more about why we act they way we do and be completely entertained at the same time.
So, that's about it for my free time...what about you guys? You'd probably have me beat in activity level alone

For the people that I love, I hope you are all doing very well!
Emerald City Comic Con was great! I didn't get to see ALL of the people that I would have liked to, I was REALLY hoping I would get to meet the creator on Fables, which is one of the best comic series! But, I did get to meet the creators of iZombie!
Such a great "retro" looking comic that is set in Eugene (yay Oregon!) about a zombie, but one that is actually functioning and her friends, a ghost and a were-Terrier. LOL Yep, you read that right, not a were-wolf, a were-terrier...if you want to know more, you'll have to read it. It is done by this super cute couple; the husband writes it and does all the initial sketching and then the wife will color it on the computer, and they were SO sweet!
AND, the best thing in the whole world, ever: I got to meet Jhonen Vasquez!
A lot of artists of popular comics has special signing times when a limited amount of tickets were given to get anything signed: The creators of Morning Glories, Chew, The Walking Dead, Hack/Slash (go look into Cassie Hack, on here, it's great
) So those people were busy, of course, but Johnen was the ONLY guy that wasn't doing special signing times that constantly had a line.
He was actually pretty cool and pretty nice and apparently a fan of Dune.
And now I have a signed copy of Johnny The Homicidal Maniac!
Now wish me luck in my attempts to get into a competitive Vet Tech program for the fall!
It really helps that I already have a degree, prior experience, and my own pets...but my previous Biology classes might not be enough to meet the pre-reqs, so if it doesn't get approved, I'll have to wait until next year.
NOW, to those of you who like to negatively spam my sets (which is very unfair to the photographers, I might add).
How many complaints did you guys launch and how many groups have you gotten to ban me?? I'm at about 4 now and I'm trying to find more...and ALL of this over an opinion of mine, on ONE thread on ONE of the Boards. For fucks sake people! Seriously, this type of thing is why I never wanted to be in a Sorority... I know a few of my views don't line up very well with most people, and that is perfectly fine, but come on...really?!
What ever happened to doing the adult thing when someone makes you mad? You try to resolve the issue, but if it can't be done, you ignore and/or avoid the person. It is possible to just not talk to people that annoy you, trust me, I do it on here all the time.
SO, to those of you who are all upset with me and want to "punish" me for being such a mean and horrible person, I have a proposition: Instead of spamming my sets with negative comments, why don't you tell me what you think here? I have a perfectly good blog that you can comment on all you'd like...unless you're only comfortable scorning me anonymously (yes, I can count when the comments go up, but not all of them appear on the boards, I'm good at basic math like that).
