bah. While the "history" of the thanksgiving holiday is convoluted and murky at best, and subject to any number of interpretations (and, regardless, the implications were anything but positive for the native populations) - - it's never really been a "celebration" of genocide.
I do like how it has (sadly, only recently) become a time to consider and reflect upon the treatment of the Native Peoples, however.

I like turkey more.

hahaha... so true. I actually abhor the thought of being around others the entire month of December for those exact reasons. Just masses of people going crazy over consuming. I love the month, just brings out the worst in people.

I don't mind getting up at four in the morning to be in line at five on Black Friday but I shouldn't speak because I'll do midnight openings for games on non holidays. But yeah, I worked retail one Black Friday and it sucked. I could have spit when I heard that ALL the stores were open on Thanksgiving.

What if I bought you something I got on Black Friday, huh? HUH???

I've only been a part of that madness once and it left me feeling truly sad for humanity. You know when you see 11, 12 year old kids smoking outside their tents in front of a Best Buy at 5 in the morning, the world should end on December 21.

AMEN SISTA...Its because of those cheap people we have to cut short our time with family to be with superficial people who care more about the material things in life. ughhhh There is a few people out there that enjoy being with their loved ones friends family. I love all my friends. and I am ever so thankful to have them in my life.

Damn, that sucks. Two things, 1. I've never shopped a Black Friday sale in my life, 2. I'll be stressing over my two 20 page papers I have to finish for school. So I will not be contributing to that shitty ass day. Hopefully it's not too bad for you.

I never shop on Black Friday, never have never will. I'm always conflicted on Thanksgiving being a half breed lol

I am sorry you have to work on black friday but it is not just the customers its the stores that suck to. I will be spending thanksgiving with my family and friends. i hope you enjoy your time with your family and we all should just stay home on friday good luck to you

I know how you feel. But I'd rather be working that day than shopping. If I didn't have to work I'd be holed up at home with a book. And I plan on spending thanksgiving with my husband's family and their closest friends and stuffing my face. It's going to be a wonderful day.
