I know I haven't been very active in this online community, but thank you for al the birthday wishes! It is a day I usually attempt to forget, but it's kind of lonely celebrating my birthday in a strange town. I was supposed to work in studio all night but I decided to leave. Just like that! Crazy, I know. I am going to drink a bottle of champagne, either alone, or with my new special friend. Come see me in New Haven, I'm sad!

Here is me tonight; what a 28 year old looks like. Why does our society have such a phobia about women aging (rhetorical question, I actually know)? It is very unfortunate because, as it turns out it happens to all of us. Women, let's not be ashamed of our age. Be proud!

I need your help with a project!

I am exploring an elevator here and where it goes, and was wondering if you can help me explore an elevator somewhere else. If you ride in an elevator as part of your daily routine or come in contact with one, could you please photograph it and send me the pics? I am actually most interested in what you see from the inside as the doors open onto a floor, but I would also like to see the interior space. People, no people, whatever is there! I need the results fairly quickly but I don't want to make this a difficult task. Take pics on your phone and send them if you want! If you can, please make them horizontal in orientation.

You can send them in a message to me (could you tell me in which city/state/country they were taken) and I will post them on this blog for you all to see. Eventually they will be part of a 16 page book, which I will also show you images of when it is complete.

Here are some pictures of my elevator and what I see when the doors open.

Thank you everyone for making this set go live! Seriously, your support made it happen, and I think that's pretty cool.

This drama has made my tedious grad school life a little more interesting. Thanks. Enough sentimentality.

Here's student Scout...

I feel like it is difficult to do anything slightly different without offending some people, so be it.

The fish are fine. It is perfectly safe for them to be transfered out of water for a couple of seconds. Plus, they were rescued from the pet shop where they were going to be sold as food. Now they live freely (or more freely) in a huge fish tank.

If you haven't seen it, take a look.

I am tired of words, so here are some images I have curated for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks to all of you who commented on my new set, especially those of you who noticed my feet; I've always sort of suspected they were my best feature. And, if you haven't looked yet, check out my new set "Sunday Times." I want it to get accepted so that I can put up another set I shot that will blow your minds, literally, and is the polar opposite of this relaxed, natural set (god, I hate self promotion. Does someone want to handle my PR?)

I just returned from a relaxing and, dare I say, life changing, week in Western Mass before the stress of grad school begins in about a week. And these pictures illustrate just a few of these changes (and non-changes):

1. I have embraced my nature loving side I never knew I had, as well as some of the corresponding apparel.

2. I like dogs. Well, this beautiful dog, Kulfi, in particular.

3. I weed. Seriously, that's me weeding.

4. I love my very good friend, Sandhya. I guess that isn't a change. zoom image

5. I still pose for the camera.

I strongly recommend all of you try to get in touch with your hippie sides, if only for a moment. But of course, without losing track of you cynicism, sarcasm and wit.

* My new set goes up in Member Review tonight. I haven't done a set in a while, so I hope you like it.
