Just a quick update while we still have power....
We're fine. And the animals are fine.
Our whole acre went completely under water though, and went through 2 rooms of the house, including my newly built salon. So we've got a very wet, muddy, silty, smelly house at the moment. We're just lucky the rain stopped as it started soaking the sandbags that were saving the rest of the house. We were about 10 minutes away from having the whole house soked. The water current also tore all of our fences down.
We've currently got no phone lines, and the mobile (cell) phone reception is very touch and go. They've cut our water supply off. And they are talking about shutting the power down shortly. Also, the shops in our town are bare, there isn't much food/clean water left. We're still stranded from any of the towns, all the roads are completely cut off.
So we just have to sit tight for the next few days, and wait for it to calm down.
We faired pretty well though compared to some. As of last night, 11 people were confirmed dead, with something like 80 missing. A little boy 5 minutes down the road from us got washed out of a rescue boat and drowned. There is just mess everywhere. Cars washed up and torn apart lying around everywhere. Houses completely under water. Roads torn to pieces by the strength of the water. It's very heartbreaking.
We're just glad that we, and our animals are safe for the moment.
We've got a massive mess to clean up, and we've lost a few things, but we are so very lucky at the same time.
Here are a few pics of our place...
Our mailbox and street...
Our paddocks.

That's it for now....
Updates in a few days.
5 minutes down the road from us, people are needing boats to get to their homes. Homes that were in the middle of big, dry paddocks, are now in the middle of massive lakes. Roads are cut off. People are being asked to evacuate. Looting has even started. And they just confirmed the first 2 deaths. We just got a call from the Emergency services asking us to move to higher ground, as there will be flash flooding in the next 4 hours.
Apparently it's going to get alot worse...

And in other news... I have 2 images back from a shoot I did with Valkyrie a couple of weeks ago at the Botanical Gardens. There are 13 more coming yet, so look out for those.
We had such a lovely day that day. Chayce came along also, and the three of us spent the day exploring the gardens. We ate icecreams, lay on the grass, explored the pretty plants, took lots of pics, gawked at all the animals around the place and stalked a plastic crocodile, Steve Irwin style, in a lake for 30 minutes before we realised it was fake. Chayce even rolled down a hill. For funsies.
On the subjects of shoots and such, I met up with a new photographer on Wednesday, the lovely Miss Kassidy Yang, for a photoshoot concept I've been waiting to do for a while now. What a great gal she is. We really hit it off! We really clicked, it was sooooo easy working with her and we laughed...... alot. These are the first 3 images I've received back from the shoot so far.
And this one was a self shot pic, that I took straight after I got home from the shoot. The hair was too awesome, I couldn't resist. My lovely stylist spent almost 2 hours on that do. We had, I reckon, probably 50 bobbypins in there, half a can of hairspray and 8 coke cans! My poor hair even had a little bit of super glue left in it after that shoot. The superglue that we used to glue some bobbypins to the cans wasn't quite dry when we put them in ![]()

And in non-photoshoot news, I headed off into the city on Friday night to see my lovely Valkyrie graduate. I'm so proud of her, I feel like a proud Mum! Over the last 3 years or so, we have become very close, and I'm so happy to call Valkyrie one of my closest friends. Seeing her up there, made me so extremely happy.
And that my friends, concludes this week's blog ![]()
If I don't chat to you before Christmas, have a good one!

Now, pageants aren't something I normally do. Ever. I've never done one before this. I've never been interested in anything like that. And living out in the bush, not much like that actually happens out here anyway. So it never really crossed my mind.
But I saw a casting call for participants for a pin up pageant that a young girl was organising and running, in a town close by to me. And it was just that, a PIN UP pageant, not a 'beauty' pageant, not a swimwear or 'Miss Beach Babe' or anything like that. Had it been anything like that, I wouldn't have even considered doing it. But, it was based around pin up. And it was actually in a town close by to me. Normally for my photoshoots and such things like that, I have to travel into the city. But this pageant was being held in another little country town near by, which I thought was great.
So, I decided to enter. It was just something I wanted to do, to get out of my comfort zone a little bit. Something to force me to step out of my compfy little safe bubble. Something different. Something exciting. Something to get my heart pumping a bit. Something to give me butterflies.
And it sure did that. There were two nights, the semi-finals, and the finals two weeks later. And each night, we did 2 or 3 'runs' each on the runway. And let me tell you, before my very first run on the semi-final night, I was petrified! The old heart was racing, the legs were shaking and the tummy was ready to throw up! But, after that first run, I loved it, I wanted to go out there time and time again.
By the finals, I was absolutely loving it. I had cheeky little routines that I did at the end of the runway, I had little props to use and I actually got the audience involved. It really felt great performing for everyone. Hearing people cheer. Hearing my name being called out by the MC. All so great.
And actually, one of the other participants and I, performed a little last minute, on the spot, act on stage together, which was super fun. And she's since asked me if I'd like to put together a burlesque act with her, to perform at that same hotel. So of course, having found this new love and interest in performing, I said yes. Our first meeting and 'rehearsal' is tomorrow
So, even though I didn't get a final place in the top 3, I came out of this experience with a newfound and very unexpected interest in performing, a burlesque opportunity, some amazing pictures, some new girl friends, and the satisfaction of knowing I actually went out there and did something a little bit 'scary' for a change.
I'm proud of myself
And now for the best bit... pictures
Me backstage before my very first ever, runway walk. Drinking a Fruit Tingle (without the tingle, I don't drink alcohol!) It still tasted great though, I recall in my nervous state, saying it tasted "pretty".
My little support team - My husband (in the back) and my brother in law and sister in law ♥
A few snaps of my hair and makeup before the show. All of my jewellery, hair and makeup were done by Kat from My Little Rockabilly who offered to sponsor me for the event ![]()
My first ever runway walk! This was the pin up 'daywear' run.
Frantically trying to get dressed backstage in time for the 2nd run, pin up 'swimwear'. I actually forgot half of my outfit, because we were in such a rush, I didn't get time to put it on, and that half of my outfit was a actually prop in my act, oh well!
Backstage, waiting for the MC to call my name for the 2nd run.
On stage!
Handing out goodies to the crowd, as part of an act.
Again, backstage. Before my third run - pin up lingerie. This is actually a real snake, it was one of the other girl's props.
And a couple more backstage pics before the 3rd run.
Me performing my 3rd act on stage. Nothing like a bit of audience participation!
And finally, pics of the little act that Kelly and I did as a last minute treat for the audience!
So there you have it folks, my first 'onstage' experience, and the first of what I hope to be many more ![]()
I was thinking about this yesterday, and I did a really quick calculation, and it seems that during my time on the site (3 years) there have only been 6 or 7 Aussie sets that have been on the Front Page. And only 1 of them, has been this year
And I know that's not through lack of trying. We've had several of our official SG's trying for new sets lately, and a flood of old and new Hopefuls. We also have the lovely miss MadDame (who was once upon a time our only staff photographer) trying to bring back her title of Staff Photographer, so we can actually have one in this country! She's shot some amazing sets lately, that are currently in MR. Have a look for yourself.........
Countessa - City Elite
Ainslie - Sunshine on my windows
Charity (who's almost an Aussie)
- Polyester Books
And finally, my Oral Fixation set
And now for some non-MadDame shot sets, but still stunning Aussie MR sets none the less...
MadDame - Purple Trash Pop, shot by Puffin
Puffin - Morning light, shot by... Puffin?
Chayce - Gentle Strokes, shot by neillh
Kasskore - Wild Dreaming, shot by neillh
Saarni - The Ex, shot by neillh
Jakell - Sunshine and lemons, shot by neillh
StrawberrySiren - Strawberry Skyline
And last, but not least, Cruella - Pirateology Storytime, shot by Cherry. This miss lives overseas now, but we still think of her as one our our own ![]()
And we can't forget my latest MR set Twitterpated shot by the lovely AmyElizabeth
Now, I've probably forgotten a bunch of sets, but off the top of my head, that's all I can think of!
So, what do you reckon guys? Is there a winner in there somewhere? Something worthy of Front Page?
Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!

Hi folks
I've been a busy bee of late. Dividing my time between the business, pageants, workshops, conferences, renovations, photoshoots. This month seems to be the month that everything is happening. Lots of bits and pieces all going on at once.
I've got nothing on this afternoon though, finished with all my clients for the day, and it's raining outside, so I think a bit of relax time is in order. Maybe some Ugly Betty, rice paper rolls, nice hot shower.
I'll have a bunch of new pics to show you soon from last Friday night. I was in a local Pin Up Pageant, and took Valkyrie along with me to snaps some pics for me throughout the night. So I'll have plenty of backstage and on stage pics for you in my next blog. Unfortunately, I didn't get a place that night, but did alot of routines on stage, which I LOVED and perfomed a little last-minute-impulse routine with another contestant, who does burlesque shows. And she's asked if I would like to do a burlesque act with her. So it seems, I'll be dipping my feet into the sparkly pool of burlesque soon enough.
I've got a couple of pics here from my little 'acts' though, so until I have all the images from Friday night, I'll leave you with these few previews
In other news, I went ranga not long ago...
Although after having solid black hair for over 3 years now, the bright red was a bit of a..... shock to the system. So I've kept the red, but gone to a darker more violet/red...
I think I'll keep it like that for a while now though. At least until I get some photoshoots with that colour. Because I know it'll be a long time before I change it back again, after I go back to black!
Might even shoot a set with it while it's still there. I actually do have a little set in the works right now - in the planning stages. I might think about that in the next couple of months. I have little personal goals that I set for each of my sets, and I'm hoping Twitterpated can reach 800 comments by the time I shoot the new one. If I can reach that goal, I'll definitely shoot the new one. Even though my goals have nothing to do with having the set purchased, I feel as though personal goals are important, something to work towards, and something to help you strive to improve.
Speaking of sets, if you missed my last blog, and if you enjoy my stuff here on SG, it might be worth a look. In celebration of my 3rd year anniversary with SG, I've done a little blog with images from ALL 14 of the sets I've ever submitted. From the lives ones, to the ones in MR, to the ones that are long gone - deleted long ago. Bit of a trip down memory lane ![]()
And that's it from me today. I might go have a bit of a relax while I can ![]()
