Well well, what news do I have for you today?

1) I went to the Ron Mueck Exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art today.

2) I have a new set up on Zivity.

3) I like my arse lately. So I took some pics of it.



Ron Mueck Exhibition:
"This exhibition surveys a group of major works by Australian-born, London-based sculptor Ron Mueck. Mueck’s sculptures are some of the most widely acclaimed and identifiable works in the international contemporary art arena. Often naked and suspended in states of self-consciousness, introspection or deep contemplation, his figures present both emotional and physical states of exposure. Astounding in their realism, Mueck’s works have earned him a singular place as the creator of some of the most evocative sculptures of our time. Featuring celebrated works from Australian and international collections, in addition to new sculptures, it will be one of the most comprehensive exhibitions of Mueck’s work ever presented."

This stuff was amazing. I was really, really impressed with his work. I'm so glad I went. I'd actually seen a bit of his work here and there on the internet and found it really interesting, but it wasn't until someone's Facebook status update that I realised it was actually being exhibited near me at the moment. It's only here for another 2 weeks I think, so I caught it just in time.

And let me tell you, the pictures, of course, do the sculptures little justice. Being there, right in front of these massive, amazing figures was unreal. The detail, was just astounding. Even better than I had imagined. I must admit though, the plucked chicken did freak me out a little. Raising pet chickens myself, and then seeing this massive, giant plucked chicken with it's throat slit, suspending from the roof, was a bit.... wow.

Zivity:
As of this morning, I've had my 6th set published on Zivity. This one was shot a couple months back, and has been waiting in the queue to go up as a Featured Set, and finally went up this morning.
