My kid and his Mom just saw the last (?) Star Wars on the big screen at the Coronet in San Francisco, where Lucas always first plays new contributions to the series. Apparently the sword play, with those lighted swords, is other worldy. She says enough already. He says more more more.
Pick up a copy of the Ali Farka Toure and Toumani Diabate, In the Heart of the Moon, collbaration as soon as it is released in the US. I have already ordered two from Amazon.UK at $30 a pop. I can't afford that, although I do pick up my first advance check for my new book at supper tonight. The album reminds me how
eskimo shaman living in polar climbs, aboriginal
Australians living in those deserts, and these
Sahara nomads all claim to visit the Moon regularly. National Geographic should sponsor
an album like his.
But it's mostly so lovely to realize how much I really really do think of you uniquely and specifically as my friend. I don't tell you how much I love you for that, enough. Bob
My sentiments exactly. Personally, my brother's away for the weekend spending time with the parental units. I have the whole place to myself 'til he gets back Sunday night. Since I arrived home from work @ 12:30AM, I've done nothing but veg watching the BBC. Dull, but God Damn is it peaceful. I hope you find some of the same tonight...cheers!
