2 hours into the Tijuana portion of my band's music video shoot we were surrounded by Mexican police, who at first seemed to have our best interests in mind. They warned us that it was a very very dangerous street we were shooting on. We wanted to say 'Thank You' and be on our way. But they continued to warn us that it was dangerous- that at any moment we could be surrounded by many people with firearms that would rob us. Taking a look at the current situation it became clear that that was what was happening right now. We were being robbed by the Mexican police. After harassing us for over an hour and threatening us to go to the "judge", they walked away with $400 of our dollars. Mexican police: 1. Watch Me Burn: 0. Assholes.

The rest of the trip was nice. We went and had a nice meal in Rosarito after that, and then got some great footage at a Mexican cemetary. But apparently an RV with a metal band inside is very suspicious so we got stopped again at the border. After a one hour inspection with 2 K-9's the Border patrol was satisfied that we were not hiding any drugs or immigrants. Assholes.

It's good to be home. I like watching the squirrels outside of my window eat pine cones.
I have a very busy week ahead of me. Lots of naked girls.
And then I think I'm ready to get back on set. I miss playing with big movie cameras. And I miss the money for sure. I think I better make a few phone calls...

Yeah... I"m down there all the time to check on my house north of Ensenada. You really do have to be careful in Tijuana-- of the police, as well as other stuff. Those fuckers are so corrupt, you almost cannot get through from Rosarito to the border anymore without having to pay a bribe. NEARLY EVERYTIME. That's how those guys make a living. Vicente Fox was supposed to have cracked down on corruption, but not in T.J... Down there the prosecutors and judges and judges who are not corrupt and in cahoots with the drug cartels just get wasted. So the cops are nearly all corrupt too. Tijuana ain't what it used to be, and it used to be gnarly then.

Sounds like everything else turned out OK though.

That sucks!! It is a shame that people can be like that but it is reality. I would prefer watching the squirrels and drinking Jameson. Not only are they cute but they will not rob ya!! Love your work!!!

Ouch! $400 is a lot to lose, but it could've been worse. I'm glad to hear that you made it back safely.

Glad the Mexico fiasco didn't turn out shittier than it did... thats one place I don't fuck around. Even in nice areas in the Yucatan I've seen random dudes with assault rifles and other shady business. How was your last show btw?

LOL. The mexican police kicks ass! they do that, it's like their "thing": getting money outta everything, you don't really have to give them anything but they won't leave you alone if you don't. They're lovely.
