Sawa, i was looking at your bands site the other day - and it really made me laugh. some of the comments on the "news" page were most amusing - and the idea of some of the covers you are trying out are insane - and i really hope that its actually true, and not a funny band in-joke.
in the meantime, if i ordered a copy of the first CD, is that something you guys would deliver to the UK?
In 1990, right before I quit the band I was in most of the eighties, we had gone out for Chinese food during the day. We were on our third US tour with Green Day (their first) that time, and that night we were scheduled to play with DOA, whom we had played with seven or eight times, and whom we had done our first show ever with in '83. We were doing two shows back to back, two nights in a row, and the next night we were scheduled to play with Fugazi. The fortune in the cookie said: WEDNESDAY WILL BE A VERY IMPORTANT DAY FOR YOU. Strange, I thought-- most fortune cookies don't say shit like that. Anyhow, after watching DOA, who embodied pretty much everything old school that I liked about punk rock that was now starting to disappear-- Joey Shithead pouring a pitcher of beer on himself and the crowd while doing his little headcock thing-- I had to party after the show, and had invited some people over to the house we were staying at, but the rest of the new school-type people in my band were not on the same page. I had kind of already had enough, (as they had made us miss New Orleans when we had an extra day off-- never made it there.) and was drunk enough to make the threat that I wasn't necessarily going to kick my singer/guit plyr.'s ass, but he better step outside, or else I was going to leave. Well, he wouldn't step outside, and I had to keep good on my promise, so I called a cab to the airport, and left. The next night, they had to play as a two-piece with Fugazi, who at the time, embodied pretty much everything new school that I hated about punk rock. Needless to say, we put out nine records, toured the U.S. three times, did our last show with the same band we had done our first with, the band never got back together, and my life abruptly changed. Things worked out perfectly.
HOw did the Chinese cookie know? You can never tell what's gonna happen when it comes to those little fuckers.
