My fingers hurt like hell.
I am currently on Day Two of learning guitar, and am picking it up like a natural!
I am a born singer and my dad is an amazing guitarist and drummer, so I suppose it's in me. I have wanted to do this for a while now but on top of my musical skills, am also an awesome procrastinator. Now my heart is really in it. I so badly want to be able to do my own thing and sing and play for people, not rely on someone else to play while I sing. I dabbled in piano for years, just doesn't fill out a song like a guitar though.
So, that's my news.

Good luck with the guitar. A girl who can play well is beyond hot! Its just flat out uber sexy. And there really is just something about playing music that can just take you anywhere.

I was so clueless learning guitar. The tips of my fingers became so inflamed and red I could barely do anything with my hands the following days. It took awhile but now I can play some random songs. I love it. It's so fun to play.

Take it from a guitar teacher, if you fingers hurt TOO much at the start, then you are doing it wrong. Sure they will hurt a little bit as is the nature of pushing down thin metal strings, but it shouldn't be a crippling pain.

Practice little and often in the beginning as opposed to trying to cram loads of practice time in one go.

If you need any tips/advice I'd only be happy to help.

Yea no my fingers only hurt mildy from building the calluses. I feel like I know what I'm doing from watching my dad for years.
I'm actually in a band already with my dad who plays while I sing. We play at local pubs and earn that cashhh
Our bass player is a little unreliable though, so maybe I should be taking up bass!
