RIP Hunter S. Thompson. He killed himself 3 years ago today. His final words:

No More Games. No More Bombs. No More Walking. No More Fun. No More Swimming. 67. That is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I am always bitchy. No Fun for anybody. 67. You are getting Greedy. Act your old age. Relax - This won't hurt.

In other news, the new tatty is looking good! Peeling lots, still a bit sore. Sat for nearly 6 hours, with 3 more sessions to go. Got the entire underdrawing done, except for the underside of my arm (owwwwwwch). Can't wait until it's finished! Next session in a month.

From Hunter S. Thompson came my personal dictum...

"When the going gets wierd, the wierd go pro!"

"I tell you, my man, this is the American Dream in action! We'd be fools not to ride this strange torpedo all the way to the end."

Probably one of my favorite quotes.

I bet HST would have more to say re: this Presidential election race than any other of recent times, though I wouldn't hazard a guess as to what his take on things would be. Whenever I saw Depp at the Oscars last night I was reminded of this thought, too, but from what I have seen no one's asked him (JD) for his thoughts on the subject.

In other news: your nature photos are very cool; looks like a great time!

Wow, that's heavy... I'd never read Hunter's last words before. I can't imagine ever being in that place. My dad died at 62 and wasn't anywhere near being bored. But my hat's off to Hunter for checking out on his own terms.
