They completely, utterly believed that their leader, DO, was the second coming of Christ. They lived as celibate, androgynous monks - nearly 40 of them for over 20 years. They were mostly brainy computer programmers, and supported their group doing web design. Their earthly goal was to completely detach from humanness in order to transcend. They called their group "The Class," and seemed to all understand that they would graduate, and the class would eventually come to an end. They believed that, through their intense study and spiritual practice, they were readying themselves to be reincarnated into what DO called The Level Above Human. They originally thought a spaceship was going to pick them up, but then decided that the final step was to completely shed the physical body in order to transcend to the next level.
