Oh noes! Did you not save backups on a separate drive? You could reinstall Lightroom and theoretically your backed up catalogues would all load fine? Computer-related malfunctions are the worst thing ever. I back up constantly, such is my fear of them.

wow that really sucks, I have never used lightroom, did you call them and see if they could tell you what happened, I can’t stand when I work on something for a long time and something happens to it.
