I've been in exactly that situation before, give or take the BPD.
In my experience, the people who ask you questions about being British (ho-hum) are the people you've just met. People run out of questions after a while and then you can be yourself. Find a group of people you like and power through the inquisition; it'll get better with time.

My motto is "things always find a way to work out". You'll figure it out. We all love you.

Aw dude, I got all teary eyed and you know how much I hate that.
You know I miss you so much I can hardly express it in just words, everyday I want to talk to you properly and have a big catch up. I miss just meeting up with you and sitting around in town on that wall smoking and people watching. You're my best friend and I'm glad you know that, everything that happened in the past with us was just horrible I know, everything was a mistake with that, it was just childish and well uncalled for and wrong to be frank.

I understand you must feel lonely, I feel lonely too. I do pretty much the same as you throughout the day, watch films, go online, sleep, I keep sleeping until 2pm which isn't good, along with shitty work, which is the worst part of my day/life.
It's funny you said about an animal shelter, I have been applying for jobs in vets, so we're both going for the same thing Good luck with that, and you know hopefully once someone has asked you ''Oh are you British, oh your accent, England, rain blah blah'' well hopefully they won't ask again, as it really only needs to be said once, if that.
