The problem with the entertainment industry is they think most consumers are too stupid to try something new, hence all the shitty remakes of horror movies or cartoons, etc. Reality TV?? Don't get me started. The reason why we consume is in search of new stimulation. I hated Alvin and The Chipmunks when I was a kid. Why would I hate them less now?
